what ballast is it? i take it the lamp struck up fine before, your igniter may be on the way out, or could just be a dud lamp, lots of reports on dodgy grolux lamps.
also if you look in the lamp there's a coil of wire around the inner arc tube, this is a starting aid, so if this is broken/damaged your lamp will have trouble starting

your igniter may be on the way out
Thats what i was thinking, but ano alot of peeps dont rate grolux bulbs either.
Its a cannatronics hydrolux ballast 400W, its only been used for about 4 grows

grolux lamps are really good when they work, it's just the 400w ones often break the starting aid, after which they don't work, or if the starting aid gets thin anywhere along it's length they have trouble starting (before it eventually breaks and wont start at all)
try another lamp and see if it's the same situation, wouldn't have thought it was the igniter as they usually either work or don't work
Will do bud light due on at 8 so post back when a've switched it on
Ok so i got a brand new bulb of a friend there that he got of ebay, this is the description they give cant find any info on the net about the company or that or even anywhere else that sells them apart from ebay, do u think this will be ok or is it worth buying a new better known bulb?

yeah people sell their used lamps, tossers, ebays ok, just get lamps from an ebay shop. you can tell if a lamps been used, the ends of the arc tube will be blackened, if it's brand new the tube should be clean looking al the way along and you should just be able to make out the electrodes at either end inside the tube
