i'm really annoyed with getting ripped off with wet/dusted weed, so i'm gonna have a go at growing my own.Money is tight so i'm trying to make it as cheap as poss.

i have a small (2x2.5x8 ft approx) cupboard which im going to clean out & cover in reflective mylar. my mate is going to lend me his light which is a 200w envirolight (red & blue) & i'm going to use j arthur bowers compost to plant the KC36 seeds i have on order (after germination).

Any advice on anything would be appreciated as i'm a complete noob

your going to need 2 fans as well.. inlet and outlet..

first add nutes then ph the water..

You need to extract stale, smelly air for fresh....thats very important to the plants.

hey good luck mate, i also have planted for the first time last night in a wardrobe at my rental. 2 x white widow 1x unkown clones. I am complete novice and am shittin myself but figure there is only one way to learn and with the help of the experts on uk 4:20 and a few mates, things will hopefully turn out alright.

i heard that if i'm using envirolights, i can open the door twice a day, when the lights are on, to vent the air. is this true? cos i cant really start cutting holes in things......unless i have to

you heard wrong.

you need fresh air in, and stale air out...at least you'd need the door ajar &

you can point a fan out of the growspace into a room I suppose, but come flowering it'll really smell.... and still be crap and bad for the plants, and yield and potency, and daylight & hermies...

fresh air is as important as light.

You'd better get used to the idea of cutting holes in things when growing weed

you dont have to, but get an oscellating fan to circulate air.

personally i use a 400mh for veging, in a small space, i have the light pretty close, i dont use no fans. when flowering, i use 2 oscellating fans 1 top 1 bottom of plants, and an extracter fan, no intake.

My recommendations? Get a very good book on growing and keep it as reference material. Most likely once you get the grow bug, you will never stop unless it is not practical to grow. A good reference book is a god send. Once you have read through that, then coming to spots like UKK420 will be that much more rewarding.

I think the key element in growing (even more than lighting and soil) is getting your air sorted out. Plants cannot survive unless they can breath. They will grow in shite soil and with piss poor lighting, but once your air is bad, it's over.

Combined with that is smell. If you need to be stealth, you need to consider that your plants will smell ferocious. Smell and air can be addressed together and is highly advised.
