I'm looking for something a bit different from my normal smoke, for years I've been a bit obsessed with growing and smoking some of the strongest strains I can get my hands on, day ending indica's like black domina, white russian, mazar and exile, or mind bending sativa doms such as NL #5 x Haze .
Now I'm looking for something gentler

I must be getting old or something. I'm looking for a strain that doesn't blow the top of yer head off, something that just elevates my mood without getting me totally ripped, something that I can still function on that doesn't make my tollerances shoot through the roof after a few days of smoking it, something that doesn't have monsterously high levels of THC.
does such a strain even exist ?
a nice mild happy buzz that doesn't make you feel totally spannered.
any suggestions gratefully accepted this is entirely new territory for me.

I've got some hashberry seeds and was wondering whether they might do the trick.

Yep, I grew Mandala's Safari Mix and it all turned out like that - not sure I like it that much - but tough, high yielding and I reckon should make a good quantity of dry-sieved hash.

the hashberry does sound interesting.
Has anyone tried any of the other mandala strains ? I've got them all except for the mandala #1 and the safari mix, I bought them ages ago and have never gotten around to trying any of them.

Sadly no, I wanted the Safari Mix for the Kalichakra genes - Joolz is Out of stock though, mandala gone?
The mellowest weed i've smoked, is the stuff im smoking now... Pot of gold. Quite a physical high, nothing over the top. I scare easily, so this strain must be ok.
kush is in pog, tried it before ?

I think I heard mandala mike wasn't very well, I think there was something about it on their website.
I'm growing some Masterkush (dutch passion) at the moment but I've never smoked it before.

big bud, i never tried it, i assume its for size not strenght. i cant imagine not breezing through the day, driving down a sunlit country lane listening to jefferson airship, floating through the clouds, never to old, some folk realise its not for them, only fly if you like it. one guy said to me one time..i stopped smoking weed, cos it made him letharic, its what pot does dick head.

eww that does sound kinda weird with a name like that I would have expected something fresh and fruity.

May 3 2008, 09:54 PM
yeah it's a misleading name, i think it's based on the name of place they discovered the strain.
i initially presumed it was hashplant x bb or something similar
tbh i'd go with something else, found it to be a unsatisfying smoke all round

if you want taste, when your curing put a little lemon or orange peel in the jar, not to much it will make it very sticky, try it you will be amazed

I've heard of that before, I'm sure it makes quite a difference but for me it kinda defeats the object kinda like those flavoured skins you can get.

Aroma: fruity-berry; blackcurrent jam; hashy
this is how they describe hashberry on the madala site not a mention of mothballs anywhere

.
I'm also looking at sadhu and satori from the mandala range, don't suppose anyone here has any experience of these do they ?
other possible candidates from my seed stash are orange bud and oasis from DP , I've also got skywalker aswell but this one sounds as though it could be a bit strong considering it's heritage.

As I remember the Hashberry was quite mild with an odd hard to describe taste, smelled hashy with a bit of pine a wee bit tickly on the throat sometimes but pleasant all the same, I would say the Sadhu was better though a more rounded stone.
I have a pack of Satori lurking somewhere too they may be popped soonish.

I've dropped the Sadhu seeds into water now so hopefully they'll be on their way before long.
I'll still be interested in hearing what other folks have to recommend I always like to have a few different strains on the go

.
if you havent grown it before good old skunk #1 a nice tastey smoke, doubt its over 15%thc (more like 10-12%), probably my favourate strain, Ive not grown it in a while might have to now

I'm going for something kush next time, or a afghani something.
I've got a Hashberry momma and it's very mild and smells kinda sickly sweet, to me...but i've smoked too much of it.
maybe kushage I'm going for next... and buy some kush and afghani and nigerian, just for fun.

DP Masterkush tastes nice - kinda like pearl drops/grapefruit and is mellow verging on the not strong at all.
These were fems.
how about a bubblegum, maybe TH seeds one as it's more towards the indica, or white labels doublegum?
Hope you find a nice one

I've got some DP Masterkush growing right now and they seem to have more of that mint/menthol/earthy kind of smell going on similar to black domina or mazar.

Master kush would have been my recommendation, my girl has a crackin fuity taste to her tho, definatley stronger than Hashberry (which I was a bit dissappointed with) and a really smooth smoke to her, gives enough of a stone to make you want to sit down and chill but doesn't stop you from doing things that you need to get done!!
Smoke too much tho and your arse is welded to the couch for the night!!

Hi Lizard
I've grown bothhashberry and mandala#1 and agree with others about the stone..nice and light but pleasantly so
Of the two the mandala#1 is preferable for me if only for the smell and taste. She is like sweet lemons, kind of sherberty I think and absolutely lovely .If she was a heavier hitter I would deffo keep her but alas the full on punch is not there.Plus she finishes in about 55 days

I've been thinking about the sort of buzz I'm after and my mind keeps drifting back to the red lebanese hash I used to score years ago, that would be pretty much exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for, a lot of it wasn't too strong but the flavour was awesome and it was just a nice relaxed buzz nothing too heavy.
I wonder if there are any weed strains that capture some of the spirit of that old lebanese hash ? infact are there any strains available based on lebanese genetics ?

i smoke a pipe, i dont smoke paper or tabac, i dont smoke leaf, only pure bud. orange and lemon peel adds a little more than taste. but if you know it all you never need try anything.

Have a look at Durga Mata too mate, its a nice mellow, dreamy body stone but it isn't couch locky at all, it smells and tastes very purfumy/citrusy, £20 for 10 beans from Paradise Seeds.
Do a search for more info, it has plenty of fans on these forums

I've got some of those , if they do what they say on the tin ( which I have no doubts about whatsoever ) then I plan to have these as my wintertime smoke, also I wouldn't imaging anything by OT1 being a "mild" smoke, not judging by his reputation anyway.

I've just been smoking Masterkush which a few people in this thread recommended, it is a bloody nice smoke, nice taste and everything but it's still a bit stronger than what I'm looking for, after a couple of bongs of this stuff I just veg out and don't get anything done ...

maybe I should be looking for something with a little more sativa in it .

Hi Lizard - I was looking for just same experience you're after and found Tiki's Yarkoum fitted the bill

I've tried/grown most of the strains mentioned in this thread - the Yark was the best of the lot

- unfortunately I lost the mum and I haven''t seen the beans around for a while

If you have a chance I can't recommend it enough

- It's smells/tastes gorgeous - fruity/cherry smell with parma violets taste, the hit is definately indica but not couchlock - I keep having little tiny pipe hits to keep my concentration whilst spending 10-12hours a day stuck in front of the computer....
Blab's top tip for the day!
