and wanted to kno what the ratio is ROUGHLY male to female

have been told many times that is always 50/50. However in my experience a true F1 has more like 70/30 f/m ratio and an ibl has bout 50/50. As serious is extremely good seed bank, i believe ak is a true F1 so would hazard a guess that you would be dead on with 5-6 out of nine

Planted 11 seeds, 10 germed and we ended up with 6 little ladys, although they're not that little now, 3 of em have taken 10 weeks and are getting yhe chop 2day

its a 50/50 ratio. But you could plant 100 seeds and end up with 100 males.
In turn you mate could plant 100 and have 100 females.

So although its 50/50 its really just luck of the draw

im not sure but the 50/50 ratio thing is relevant to seed numbers , i dont think it means youll get 5 m an 5 fems per 10 pack , but a plant that is fully seeded will produce a rough ratio of 50/50 male / female seeds from the whole plant ,, so this means if you got a pack of ten seeds theres a chance they could be all male or all female or 1 male 9 fem or any other combination , but if you had everyseed from that one plant youd have a 50/50 ratio more or less its just pot luck m8 tbh

Some say environment plays a part when a plant determines sex. As far as i know cannabis generally produces more females then males. It would make sense as male pollen from one plant could fertilize many many females.

that is kinda true but i dont think sex is detemined until its actually germinated or during the seedling stage? there are things that can have an influence on sex, if u stress the plant it can hermie. u can get seed soak which is supposed to increase ur fem rate, ive never used it so not sure if it works but things like higher nitrogen and others have an influence on sex

I had a quick go at some stats for a sample of 10 random seeds from a population with a 50:50 ratio of male/female.

Here are the approx probabilities I get:

I also worked these out - takes me back a few years! I guess you're applying N~B(10,0.5) ?? Trouble with that is, it assumes independence, so if environment has even a tiny impact on the probabilities its way off.

it's difficult to answer without pushing the boundaries of dullness, but yeah, of course, I assumed independence. My full model takes into account whether you played with lego or mechano as a kid and how much your parents loved you....

i germed 5 white russian about 6 weeks ago now... 1 didnt do anything... the rest have just shown female pre flowers .

in the past i had 15 chronic seeds 14 were females

seems the serious seeds throw a lot of females (well for me anyway)

any ways.,,. this lamp has given me,.,.90% females,,,,. i also grow my seedlings on 14 hours,.,. this makes them show earlier.,.,then once i know sex,.., i put on full light.,.,
they do go alil lanky at first,,. i dont mind this tho.,., lets more light thru.,.,
