have just germinated 5 feminized ppp seeds, an i have jus noticed on sumones diary that these can turn hermi, and ive also niticed that not a many grower r usin fem seeds?????

Its a topic that comes up alot mate theres a chance they can turn hermie seen it happen in alot of grows using frm seeds, if it were me i would and do use normal seeds n just kill the males then u got true females and use cuttings etc.

It can happen any time really after they show sex, they can show male and female pre-flowers or it could be during flowering they start to show male bits.

Its a bit of worrying i could live without to be honest.

cheers have got 10 cuttings cumin in the morn off a m8 so il keep my eye on the fems. am doing my very first grow and wos readin one ov ur diaries, if i remember rite and that aint a lot these days you had probs with how high to place ur lite. my fems hav jus shown emselfs and im using a 400w hps how far do u reccomend the lite shud be???????????

just keep a close eye on them throughout flower, right to the end.
sometimes femenized seeds show both sexes, if you find pollen sac's don't panic, just nip them off with your fingers.
hermies happen with normal seeds too, usually caused by stress during flower, or just bad luck.

Ye mate i had alot of probs with light burn, i had it way to close to begin with think it was something like 2ft or somethin like that n it toasted them so next time i'll prob hav it starting at about 1m n bring it down over 2 weeks even now i hav it at between 1.5ft to 2ft.

To be honest i think ur better using a CFL for maybe the 1st week or so

If it were me n a seen any pollen sac's i would kill the plant aint no point n risking u might not get everyone it can be hard to see when theres buds everywhere.

N ye hermies do happen with normal seeds but like u said Killas usually when there stressed n the odd time it will just happen but the difference is fem seeds tend to turn hermie cause they hav the hermie genes in them i've seen countless amounts of grows on here where a pack of fem seeds will produce a couple to a few hermies not for me i'd rather stick with regulars.

yea i know wot ur sayin but jus splashed out on wot seemed a small fortune on doin the grow room. had to knock down a wall, plasterboard it up to keep out the cold, an then rig it out. am planning on growing quite a few so got my hands on a 400w hps and a 600w hps

if i remember correctly, feminised seeds are created by using the pollen from a hermied female plant thus giving the offspring higher chance of female genes, but obviously the pollen was taken from a hermie plant so theres a(high) chance the offspring will inherit the hermie genes.

IMHO i just stick to normal seeds, i have bought fem seeds before and suprise suprise i got hermies.

It is pollen from a hermie of sorts.......usually female plants are stressed with chemicals to produce male pollen.

Yeah, I'd just stick to normal seeds too.....one grow with fems seeds, nightmare - never again!

just wanted to say that every grow i have done i've used fem seeds due to limited space and i've only had one hermie a bit (a few seeds) but it still smoked niiiiice!! and like i said, every other grow i've done has turned out good. just my experience tho.

fems can be fine, but with somethin like Power plant can go wrong cos this strain is an almost pure sat so has slight hermie tendencies already and feminisin it is only goin to make that worse.

I've had one or 2 stress induced hermies, some have been bad some not so bad, depends on the strain and how bad it looks, but i tend to just nip out them banana bastards and or cut off any branches that seem badly "infected" unless the plant looks a total hermie, then its black binbag and dumped in the woods time .

Fems i can't comment on, i never used nor thought i would use them, but 3 m8s who i taught to grow use them everytime and have never had any problems whatsoever, so i took the plunge and started 3 fem'd jackie whites for my current grow, to the best of my understanding fem seeds come from females who have been forced to turn hermie and left to pollinate themselves, this supposedly means that you will never get a fully male plant as something to do with nature/genetics or whatever means a hermie cannot produce an all male plant but can produce all female ones, i personally think that it's a risky process as there's also the increased risk of hermies, but then again every new grower runs that risk when getting started anyways.

i had a couple of hermie plants, i gave all the seeds away, must be 18 months ago,i've been told every seed turned out female. if a plant is hermie it dont grow an abundance of seeds.

i've had seeds from a m8's grow that went herm, all seeds so far, 15 out of approx 50ish have all been females and damn nice. Also 100% germination ratio so far.

i did isis fems and didnt get any hermies. what i did notice was that there was much less difference in phenos, they was pretty much identical but apart from that i have no compliants. they are good if u dont have the room to veg all 10 + reg seeds tbh but if u have the room i would get reg seeeds
