very gritty - horrible
heyboy
ok

the gritty wmp+JI is definately not the one

wmp+JI 33% extra with pearlite looks good

west hanging basket looks good but no pearlite - can it be the one
Jim_jim
I think multi purpose with added JI is the best. Well thats what people on here seem to use quite a lot of, i'm using it also

You dont really need perlite as long as yoy dont start seedling off in a 5 L pot, and stat o in small pots and pot up. Perlite is only use to help dilute the soil so its not too hot for the oung plant
heyboy
ok

i thought the pealite was a give away to the 07 formula

could the hanging basket stuff be the old formula with out pearlite

Yeah, you're right. It's the one with the perlite that you want. The gritty one (33% extra free) is kack. The hanging basket stuff generally contains a higher level of feed and water retaining gel - but it's unclear what the quality of compost is in that bag you have. If the bag with the perlite in it is the right price - stock up on it. But check the bags before you buy. Different batches contain different compost.

If there's a question mark over the MP stuff, go for the West Advance+. That's all good.
