any thoughts OT1 ????????//
I think you have given little or no information.
They were growing in something? pot size? you have repotted into what size?
The pictures are small and unclear to me. I would say from what I can see, it is typical of zinc shortage or lock out and that should just not happen with any good MP compost, have you added anything to raise the ph buffer level of the new compost?
heyboy
Apr 12 2008, 01:57 PM
Sorry OT1
Repotted from 4inch to 7 inch
4 opium in B+Q multi + JI 1 plant showing signs of yellowing
4 skunk(unknown) B+Q multi + JI all ok
4 Master Kush in new compost - JAB with added nutrients all 4 have yellowing
why would only 1 opium be showing same signs in different compost????

i have added a little rock dust after seiving
i give them bio link plus (beneficial microbes)

Have they rooted through, if so are the roots nice and white?
Different plants will react differently to quite small ph changes and nutrient balance levels. It is not a normal thing to see zinc probs, as its only on some, if the roots look good, its a marginal thing, I would say the problem is with the new compost, you may have a bad bag, it happens. Next pot on use JAB with added JI.
Is your local tap water hard or soft?
heyboy
Apr 12 2008, 02:14 PM
all i can get is JAB with added nutrients - orange bail
roots are good and white
Bio link plus only giving 0.3ml per litre as per greens website
Temps are great 23-25 aering cupboard been using it 2 years no probs
heyboy
Apr 12 2008, 02:16 PM
tap water soft
possibly soon to be flouridated

I would try a good feed of grow and bloom + a little maxicrop or alg mic. Wetting the leaves well at he same time.
Are the roots in good order, it only takes a second to invert a pot on your hand and slip the pot off to look/see.
All peat composts are more likely to have probs than ones with added loam or JI.

It looks like the plants are recovering, is this correct?. I would use the b&q, in future as it gave no problems.
The biolink is a good product, as a by the by.
heyboy
Apr 12 2008, 02:51 PM
im due an order soon from greens i noticed they dont sell biolink plus any more
Can you recomend something else
carriage is a pain for me so its easier to get stuff from 1 place
Just to recap these plants are 7 weeks old due for 12/12 in about 7-10 days when room in flower room
heyboy
Apr 12 2008, 02:56 PM
i cant tell if they are any worse or improving
they are due to go up to final 8 inch so i will use B+Q compost
I will pot 1 plant up in this JAB compost and squeeze it in as a 13th plant as a trial
if it makes it upstairs

thanks OT1
I have been adding rock dust for a few grows and bio plus
I have been adding it to final pot up 8 inch
should i add it to 4 and 7 inch pot up?
clones go into 2.5inch square in levington seedling compost
re pot into 4 inch square levington seedling compost
then 7 inch round B+Q multi +JI
then 8 inch round B+Q multi +JI and rock dust

I strike cuttings in compost mixed with rock dust. ie I also use it mixed in the compost at every stage.
I would advise using an inoculant as well, you should be able to get rootgrow at a good garden centre where you are, that would do you nicely.

ok
who makes root grow?
and would the seers rock dust work better and go further if it was ground up ?
i paid £12 carriage
may be a pharmacists bowel (old type)

OT1
I liked your compost trial
I cant get carrs or genie and JAB i got looks like its not the one
Im getting average results
My enviroment has never been better and roots too
Compost is what ive over looked
The old storey i used to use westlands
Ive read all the threads on compost
Why is levingtons not popular or some of the other B+Q composts eg hanging basket and container
B+Q have a JI 1,2 and 3
elstonite

doesnt appear to be perlite in the pots and with that added moisture control stuff the roots can stay wet for a long time , that might be why they look a bit ruff , leaves look swollen too which is a sign of overwatering
