To be blunt the plants need to be terminated with "all possible dispatch"....to use the quote.
My guess is that they have been nuked with nutes or been in a very hot environment or both.
If your mate has the same problem with his then what is the common denominator?
More info needed.

not quite shure what the deal is with both plants being sick. it could be very well nute burn, yet my buddy uses little then normal amount....i took a trip down south and used a diffrent brand nute on it so that coulda been the killer, if she keeps up im going to do a chop

Looks like a combination of nute burn and lack of proper ventilation to me

First thing you need to do is flush the soil. It sounds like you have overcooked the nute dosage on a different brand.
Flush the pot trough with plenty of plain water. This will dilute the salt build up.
After that you will need to reassess whether or not you are going to keep the plant.
I don't mean to sound pessimistic but it looks f**ked.

Flushing is a pointless excercise.
Firstly Awol, fill in your profile properly, because atm it doesn't tell us sweet FA.
At first glance i'd say you have inadequate lighting, inadequte air exchange, the compost isn't up to much, & you've probably over watered.
They look pale so it wouldn't say over feeding. The blackened leaf tips could be over watering, & a combo of crap compost.
What feeds have you been using & how much?
File in your profile properly & give as much info to the Q's people are asking.

AWOL,
it's no good at all asking for help with a profile like that m8? If you just filled it in why people are trying to help you and then delete if your worried.
I'm sure no one here wants to steal your grandma's soil recipe

and my buddys plant has returned to its normal healthy state. (after a light fell on it that is) clearly the falling light had nothing to do with its health but shure enough its made its way back.
