Hello everyone.

We have a plan, but could really do with your advice in creating it.

The plan is to effectivly build a wardrobe grow room from scratch. we will be buying the drobe and converting it. So we need to know what size drobe, (and if pos a cheap place to buy it, maybe ikea?) Inside we want room for 2-3 plants, a 600w sodium lamp, and a 5" Ruck RK125 Inline Fan with a 50cm carbon filter.

my worrys are, heat and humidity problems.

can this be done people or is the light too powerful for a drobe grow?

thankyou all. emi and katie

will vents be okay with a carbon filter or will the smell leak?

Your worries are well founded Katie. A 600w light will be way too hot for a standard wardrobe (unless you fork out for another RVK and a cool tube). I'd either go with a 250 hps or start looking at envirolites.

There are plenty of folks on here who have DIY drobes - do a search for "growdrobe" or "drobe" and see what you come across. Always best to learn form the mistakes of others wink.gif

Ikea is a good place to start looking, I bought my drobe from there and i have a 400w hps in a cooltube with a 125 rvk and carbon filter. I haven't had any temp probs and i reckon with the fan turned up to about 75% i could run a 600 watter without too many probs. cool.gif

e2a, i forgot what the wardrobe was called, but it was in the section where you can build the wardrobe to your own spec, different heights and lengths and all that

First thing to do is decide on the size of the drobe then you can work out what equipment you need to light & ventilate it

This thread should help http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?show...hl=church+drobe nearly every drober here has used this as a blueprint to happy drobing.

I've got a 250 in a drobe and during summer it can be a pain to keep cool. However I was using passive intakes so installing a decent intake fan may help. I would say 600 is too much, you may get away with it but if we get a decent summer you'll be screwed.

Good luck, happy drobing thumbsup.gif

we can either go BIG or sell the lamp.

don't think you can do that, the ballast will probably keep blowing bulbs, i might be wrong

If we decide to go big then what dimensions would the drobe have to be to occupy the lamp? and would we require more fans carbon filters? or just one bigger one?
Pots
50w to 100w per square foot, so your 600w should cover 6 square feet of floor space!

A 600W goes very nicely into a 1m2 grow tent?
And it'll have room for your fan & filter.
All the best with it. spliff.gif
