hey guys, sorry havent been on here lately much, turns out i have gotten 2 females, Donna and keely, and two males Rachel and Lucy, have chopped the males and have left them in there, they are coming along nicely, although they have grown quite a bit in the first two weeks of flower and i had to tie them down, budsites are starting to appear on keely and donna seems to be a week behind keely in maturity, but i am sure that they are both girls.

well temps are about 24 degrees by the pots, but cant tell what the temps are by the canopy without getting heated light onto the thermometer, head room is almost non existant, have to tighten the tieing down everyday, there are multiple large flowering spot and im quite chuffed about it, i broke a small branch a couple days ago, and id had some flowers on it so i thought, hey why not, dried em and smoked em and it did the trick! i had to go to sleep after lol.gif so yeah, gunna stick it out for a another 5-6 weeks and hopefully i can achieve growing in this small space,

Cheers for the feedback and questions guys smile.gif

Dude
those are some nice plants, looks like about 4. what kind are they some kind of indica for sure. If you plan on leaving them in that box then you should think about super croping. (removal of the first several bottom branches) chances are that they wont get much light in that box. and the plant will use a lot of energy making them die off on its own. Make it look like a lolly pop. It has worked great for me over the years

I really like your stealth growdrawb!

I was just wondering how you powered your computer fans as I was planning on doing the same? Someone suggested using old mobilephone chargers and wireing them up, don't know anything abut eletrics though.

Plants look awsome!
estpaul
The plant is hindu kush and seem to get on well in the box, have to tie them down almost everyday though, i would super crop them but they already have buds on them, the size of my pinky finger on the top, so dont wanna disturb the flowering, but i already have removed non budding branches off the bottom smile.gif

Phone chargers, if you are skint to the bone, use them with the fans, otherwise, go to tesco, curry or whatever and get a voltage adapter, it costs about £5.95 and it allows you to change the voltage of the item you are powering, 3v, 5v, 8v, 10v, 12v, so it acts as a fan controller, and works a treat for my babys ( on a hot day crank it up to 12 volts, on a chilly one leave it onto 5 v ) all you have to do is chop the end off and wire it to the black and red fan wires.

Thanks for the advice EP, I will go hunting for a Multi Voltage Adapter later, Will I need one for each fan? I'll order some computer fans off ebay. What size fans did you use? The bigger the better?

How old are your plants now? There looking good!

W34
estpaul
yeah id say so, 6 inch ones seem to provide ample air intake, but 4 inch ones will do the job aswell, depends on the size of the room and what light you are running

One havent tried to hook 2 fans up to one voltage adapter, might overload the adapter, play it safe...

3 and a half weeks into flower, 7 and a half weeks from seed

most pc fans come with a rating on in A or mA, as will your adaptor.

120mm pc fans will move a lot more air for quieter overall sound than smaller types, but are generally more expensive.

If you're in the UK, try ebuyer.co.uk - a pc parts place, they have fans for ~£1 which will do the trick. You can also use a PC fan controller to control the speed of said fans. a good 120mm fan will be silent and still move a fair old bit of air. I tend to buy multipacks of this cheap brand they do called Antler. Good fans and respond well to speed control.

It always really annoys me when i see on here people paying 7 quid for £1 fans on ebay or in craplins, or using £16 fans when really, a £1 fan or two, or three is all that is needed. Yes, cheap fans tend to be a bit more noisy than expensive ones per CFM of flow but if using a fan controller or an adjustable power adaptor, silence can be got easily on cheap fans:- every pc i've owned since the mid 1990s (self built), or built for other people, has been a testament to this.

cheers for the update dingo

Looks lovely smile.gif I see u use LST.. only LST? FIM also?
I will be glad if you can post 'yield score' after harvest.
I am going to grow some plants and mainly focus on plants like yours

cheers
estpaul
Well i used the FIM technique, but i think that i did it wrong, didnt cut deep enough, but weed grows anyway, no matter what you do to it.

LST? dont know what that is, but i used some string from a craft store, and tied down the ends of the tops, maybe 3 or 4 nodes from the top, from after a week into flower, tied the strings to the pot, and tightened the strings everyother day. lots of attention, but its do-able.
swiift
LST - Low Stress Training
it's that strings u are using, stretching plants smile.gif

there some nice plants man, keep us updated

Hello Villian, try getting ahold of a voltage adapter

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...O&U=strat15

like the one in this link, if you go to tesco, a similar voltage adapter is availible for £5.99, just cut the input end off and connect black and red wires as appropriate, then you can choose what speed and airflow your are giving to your ladies.

hope my knowledge could help smile.gif

I got mine from my local grow shop, it is a Hydor HMT 100, cost me 65 quid after i bargained it down from 75 quid wink.gif im a cheeky one ent i? rofl.gif the noise is noticeable but this is only because i havent conected a fan controller, but to be honest i dont really need one.

Hello everyone and cheers for the comments guys, yeah i finished about a month ago, my camera broke so i dont have any pictures to show, i yeilded a little bit more than 2 ounces, couldnt really keep track of it all because i was smoking the little bits before they were ready, thats a mistake i wont repeat tongue.gif

smoke? it was really hard hitting, although it had a slight peppery taste (kinda like curry haha), had a few blunts with the stuff, putting about 3 grams into one blunt and jesus, ive never been so stoned,

i have to say, homegrown is ten times better than what you get off your regular scummy dealer, you do pay about the same (setting up, lights, extraction, container) but you get your moneys worth, and if your new to the growing scene, its definitely worth it, the only thing is that you need to keep you mouth shut about it.

Cheers to UK420 and everyone that is part of this community, wouldnt have been able to do it without you.

Will keep you updated on the next grow, could anybody recommend a good strain? i want something nice and mellow this time, and the smell needs to be fresh and fruity.

Peace

after about 3-4-5 weeks (depending on the strain) they have a growth spurt, then is the time to tie them down, make sure the string you use after you tie them down is tight, but not harming the stalks too much, and then as they grow taller and get used to being tied down, apply more pressure to the already tied down stalk, then after a couple of weeks tie the top of the stalk downwards aswell, to form a sort of question mark shape, dont worry, the top of the stalk will keep growing and will grow towards the lighting aparatus that you operate.

nicely done mate biggrin.gif

i'd pay like £180-250 for something similar, then again the proof is in the product at the end of the effort...if you prove it can work, then you may find you have a customer base wink1.gif

Hey, doh.gif I could be onto something here wink.gif

Dude.... you have inspired me... I'm off to Argos when I get money smile.gif
