Noticed what I now believe is thrips (great chart bart....niceone) this morning when watering, after some reading and locating a place that stocks Scotts bug spray what I would like to know is: will I get away with 1 or 2 applications 17 days into flower?

,Id say you can treat them once at that stage in flower as I had to last summer I used the method from on here in case you missed it here it is. 908

Control and Eradication.
Biological control.
The main Thrips Predator Mites (Amblyseius cucumeris) are only effective where
humidity is between 70-90%, this does not really suit cannabis, If the humidity
drops below 70% the mites stop feeding and die out.. Reports have been very
poor in low humidity environments, so the use of these predators in interior
locations is only worthwhile with high humidity levels, so not really recommended
for the indoor puff grower.

Equipment and Insecticides You will need a good pump up garden sprayer such
as a killer spray, get one with a hose and a wand. Not a hand held sprayer
or worse still a bug gun. We are only going to consider low toxicity short
life Insecticides as cannabis is a product that is eaten and smoked.

I recommend that you use a combination of and insecticide and soft soap. Pyrethrum
may be the safest option but it is very unlikely that will kill them as most
thrips have resistance to it. Permethrin may work, it depends on the resistance
your thrips strain have.
The newer types of synergised pyrethroid like bifenthrin are the most likely
to be totally effective at this point in time. I recommend using this as your
insecticide.

Safers soft soap [is also known as Horticultural soap] is only capable of
killing a few adults used on its own but when used mixed with an insecticide
it thoroughly wets the insect and helps keep it wet for 2 to 3 times normal,
this gives more time for the insecticide to work and for the soap to block
the insects breathing tubes suffocating them. Insecticides Soft/horticultural
soaps.

There are several on the market, safers soft soap is marketed in this country
by Phostrogen, there is another made by Savona. You should be able to find
one of these at a good garden centre or online garden store.

Scarletts sell safers soft soap concentrate:- [Web link] Bifenthrin Bio Sprayday, Scotts Bug Clear
and Doff All-In-One Garden Pest Killer are all available
in a concentrate form containing bifenthrin as their active ingredient.
You should be able to find one or more of them at B&Q or
any garden centre.

Note: Only buy the concentrate forms
of both bifenthrin and soft soap, ”do not” buy
ready mixed bug guns, they are useless for this task.

Yeah Ive read that article amongst many more after finding them this morning! spliff.gif

Anyway after a few phone calls I mananaged to get some Sotts bug spray & that was a mission in its self.

So now Im tooled up (hopefully) let the battle begin...

Can I just ask when you had them did the oneoff application eradicate or controll them? Ive read some folks getting rid after one blast,Im hoping this is the case as I said Im already in flower.

Read also that lights/fans should be turned off and plants must be fully dried before going back under the lights...anyone on this?

Ive also put tights over my intake (bit late i know) and added yellow sticky strips at the base of my plants...so fingers crossed now I guess...
