Hi everyone,

At the moment I'm growing Lowryder#2 and they will be 4 weeks old on the 13th. One of the lowryders in particular stands out way, way ahead of all the other seedlings and if possible I will clone it for sure as it is such a beauty, but I have read some where that lowryder cuttings will not survive.

Is there anyone out there that has tried to take cuttings from the lowryder and what were your results.

Thanks,
GG
djdavid4u
just make seeds
Quagmire
I heard that lowryders can't make cuttings etc, but only just believe it, germinating some LR2 atm so will let you know if clones etc work.

I think that the consensus is that because they are auto flowering they finish in 9-10 weeks and so the flowering continues in the cuttings regardless of day length. I've read that keeping them very cold can hold back the flowering but that has other ramifications like stunted growth and cuttings need warmth to root.

bump!

even if you managed to root a cutting from an auto all you would be doing is stunting it's allready short life resulting in less bud than if you had left it alone. There is an extremely photo sensative mighty mite pheno that can be kept in veg under 24/24 but will flower with anything less but its not an auto.

i think djdavids right make some seeds ,,

Cheers everyone,

for the advice, but I think djdavid has come up with the best idea of letting the best one seed out and growing them again.

Cheers,

My mate took a few clones from a Lr2, but they didn't root. He's done a fair bit of cloning in his time and that was his first failure as such. Thats not to say that it's not possible - but extremely difficult i'm sure. He ended up breeding the strongest male x female. The problem with that is that your making F2s. They more than likely will not be as uniform as F1's. Having said all that, I have 8 of his F2's just started and they look good and uniform. He gave me 10 seeds (10 out of 10 sprouted) then i gave away 2. So in summary, try both for the laugh lol.gif

Sorry for the blurry shot

i did try out a few f2 pheno of the original lowryder,
the seeds came from the biggest plants male/female.
of the five i planted 2 looked the same and 3 were totaly diff the best being a nice plant,
the smallest pinch.gif not nice.
its always good if you can get some seeds for free ph34r.gif you never know when they will come in handy.
p.s. trying to clone em is a total waste of time
biffo
cant clone em

can (sometimes) reflower them. if u cut back to 2 growth nodes when harvesting its possible for them to bud up again. as some know ive been doin an experiment into this but so far the results have been mixed, out of 4 harvested 2 have died, 1 is flowering nicely and the remaining plant was only harvested a couple of days ago but looks promising so far.
