Hi folks. I registered here and at ic to get support for my Cali MMJ grow. Under SB420, I'm legal for 12 plants or 6 mature. About 2 weeks ago, I was delighted to find 8/10 of Mr. Souls (circa 2000) C99's popped. Kryogenics for 8 years. These are the real deal F1's and seem to be doing well. This will be my MMJ strain and I will preserve it. If I need to seed to preserve, I will use random pollination on/from as many parents as possible as opposed to selecting a certain pheno. Greetings to all.

Yes, Mate. It is BG stock. I think on OG there was in fact about a 1 year window on Mr. Soul's best. If I recall correctly, BG strated shooting the price up about 3-6 mos after Mr. Soul made his "Holy Grail" announcement. That's probably why there's not much stock around. Grow so far is "rangy". I mean, the stems REALLY are weak. Olive green. I'm giving them lots of Cali love. They will be solid and you all will capitalize. Best regards.

Spot on, Bazz...Temp wasn't an issue (even 70-75 F), but yes, Virginia, lumen burn does exist. They were looking a little bleached, olive green and were twisting a bit to probably avoid UV burn...Problem corrected. More this weekend...

Yes, moved them from about 2 feet from under 400 metal (new Sylvania horizontal) to 3 feet and they (today) are looking positively responsive. I went from about 10k unadulterated lumens to closer to 5k. Also, cut down from 24 hrs to 20. All 8 are looking relatively healthy and continue to grow well. Noticeably darker green today than yesterday. Jiffy pellets, spring water and about 30% diluted fish emulsion started about 3-4 days ago. Perhaps it's the nutes that are pepping them up today. I will go talk to them now to find out what they need.

Yes...Seedlings have lushed up quite a bit, however, the stems still concern me...The heads are getting bigger and the stems are wavering-- they look like they are dancing in the wind...and there is one, well, if you give her enough rope....But this is my dilemma: Seedlings are about 2 weeks in jiffy pellets and the stems are wavy gravy-- do I support them or let them strengthen up on their own? They are about 4-5 inches tall.

Yea...LOVE to respond to my own posts.
I just wanted to give a heads-up that I posted a small jpeg of what I'm talking about over on icmag. Would have uploaded it here too, but I deleted it off my 'puter quickly. If anybody's interested I can take another... Don't know what the politics are like or whether it's the same (Gypsy) ownership here, but I am looking for input on the stem support issue... Thanks.

I myself do support them. But supporting them doesn't mean that they don't strengthen up by moving, it's jut preventing them from falling over as I see it. Soon they won't need support anymore and will strengthen up anyway.
Edit: I love BG C99. I think it was the C99 motarebel used for his Killer Queen and Knights Templar.

OK...Moot issue. These things are SCARY the way they are growing. Looks like they are doubling in size every 3-4 days now. Even the runt is taking off. Wasn't able to upload photo on icmag...scaled it down for this forum...Only question I have is what constitutes a "mature" plant according to California's SB420? One that's in flowering?

Click to view attachmentWhen a plant shows the nodes being stepped out...non symetrical a plant would be considered to be mature. Have you had any little fans pointing at the plants? It beefens the stems up no end.
Best of luck with them

Hiya Arnold and KC...
Arnold, can I just tell you that I read CS Lewis's masterpiece about 15 times when I was coming up. Incredible. I read it about 7 more to my children in more recent years.
I also read your wardrobe blog....VERY interesting/amusing. It means a lot to me to have you weigh in here. KC...Thanks for your kind words, my friend. I'm not sure I need the fan anymore, but thank you very much for the spot on clarification of "mature" plants. That is very helpful indeed, and I have modified plans accordingly.
Best Regards.
