Hydroponics.
Hi Guys, can someone help me out here,
This grow has been a disaster, see pictures, I got this when I first placed them into Flower, but it was way worse than this, I then put them back into veg, flushed them added with a little Oxy-Plus which contains Hydrogen Peroxide, and gave them another 7 days in veg, all look ok, I then put them back into flower 7days ago, and sadly the same problem is coming back although no where near as bad as yet.
Start of grow I had very bad over heating problems 96% F, which increased the Nuet temp, but now all is stable bought Cool Shades temp is great at 77% F,
Feed Strength is 1.6 Ph is around 6.0, nuet temp 21% F
Adding about 15% veg feed with the flower feed.
I also flushed them 3 days ago between feeds again with a little Oxy-Plus went with the bottle instructions (12mls for 5 gallons), I simply changed the feed to Flush PH adjusted water for 12 hours and let the feed timer do the rest, I noticed after the flush the problem was coming back, I feed them every 2 hours for 4 minutes.
I don’t know what else to tell you, when I first experienced this I hadn't flush the plants.

My first guess is they look short of Mg and hungry. But im far from expert so wait for more replys. But 4mins every 2hrs seems a little low, they drink more when they go into flower i think, as they are using alot of energy.

As you are in clay balls, I would say up the feeds, I am on 15mins on, 45mins off in light, and 15mins on, 2hr45mins off in dark. Clay holds minimal moisture, so dont be afraid to up the water cycle wink.gif

Hope this helps mate, good luck

EDIT - What are your temps like under the cooltube? I see its really close, could it be a little burn also? The pic where you are pulling the plant forward looks like it has some bleaching where the lamp would of been?

Mr X
I sincerely hope your right, will increase the feed time 15mins every hour, do you think the feed strength is ok ? unsure.gif
Regarding heat from cool shades, I can hold the lamp in my hand it is warm but thats all, light spread could be allot better though.

Thanx for your interest.

It's all down to poor environment. My plants looked like that for ages until I figured out they were simply being suffocated. You want a howling gale blowing through your grow room (and I don't just mean a fan in the box to move air)

Think wind tunnel and you're on the right lines. soon as I built a new box with a proper set of lungs I doubled my best yield in a much, MUCH smaller space.

Have you taken into account your ec of the tap water, so for example if you tap water is 0.5 ec then setting it on 1.6 would have to be set on 2.1ec to get a reading of 1.6ec.

It looks like MG and Potassium def, yellow leaves green veins, also the brown edges, patchy in places looks like pottasium, although it could be late mg and the plant leaves have gone completly yellow and now starting to die at the tips due to lack of MG.

Not sure if you are in flower or not but would give them some epsom salts, would not foliar after week one of flowering, if all the tips of the leaves are not burnt then up the feed ratio also, if the tips of all leaes are burnt then lower the feed ratio. Some strains like higher ec some don't.

Could also keep an eye on the Ec readings to see if they are feeding over a day or so.

Don't treat the symptoms - sort out the root cause and the symptoms will magically dissappear.

It took me ages pissing about with upping these nutes, spraying with that, watering with this - all to no avail. soon as I gave them enough air to breath my problems simply disappeared, never to return.

Your photos look EXACTLY like my plants did - they're suffocating.

All the mg and P in the world won't make a blind bit of difference, been there, done that. it's poor environment that's causing nute lockout. They don't need more nutes to combat that - they just need a proper environment to let the natural process happen.

Guys thanx for your input will certainly be putting what you have advised into practice.
as you say, sick of this, enough to put you of the game. unsure.gif
