Hi again

although a total novice, I am still strongly tempted to look at starting a grow and have ordered an electrical point to be fitted by a spark in loft.

due to space/headroom and other factors i have decided to ask this question.

if you could only use The Homebox XS 0.60 x 0.60 x 1.2mtr Grow Tent or the budbox 75 x 75 x 100cm, how would you do it whilst getting the best possible yield? what lights etc. also would it only be suited to low riders?

i have to keep odour to absolute minimum, and hopefully not too noisy. and as cheap as possible.

temperature in loft ranges between 4c & 15C at moment.

there is a redundant vent outlet in roof previously used by one of those electric ceiling extractor fans in bathroom looks to be 100mm, although its a good 10 feet away from where tent would be..

I have read up as much as i can on this site but still am unsure about lighting/space ratios and a few other things spliff.gif .

Thanks for any suggestions.

Well one thing in relation to systems to use, how much space have you got to get in and out of the loft, some systems take 50 litre's or more so would be a pain shifting water up there on a weekly basis should that be difficult. Also width of loft hatch and length, some systems won't fit if to small.

Should you have sufficiant room and width to get up in the loft,(would have to measure it and let people here know) then it be better to suggest a system to best work with based on that space. Getting in my loft is a pain in the arse.

can you fit a 400w in a 1 meter high tent?

was thinking of soil so shouldnt have to cart as much water up there
but does soil mean less headroom?
i dont want to get into hydroponics at this stage if possible

if i get budbox 75x75x100, the door of tent will be 18 inches from loft hatch, if i go for homebox, the door will be 2 foot from hatch.

hatch is 70 x 55 cm and i can fly up there quick enough with step ladder.

was thinking of assembling tent in loft so wouldn't have to fit through hatch

cheers

Nothing wrong with using a 250w hps for flower, if it is ok temp wise in vegging it will be fine temp wise in flowering, hps also recommended for flowering.

You could get away with it in a cool tube.. But a 250w would serve the purpose in that space...

is the budbox XS 2m high or 1m?

i only got 1.2 metres headroom available
potsmoker93
Pretty sure the Xs series is 1.2m height only and they don't do an Xs larger, they tend to be xl, xxl bud boxes.

Would a 250w hps be ok in either a 1m or 1.2m high tent for both veg and flower?

Thanks.

would i need an intake fan as well as an exhaust fan for this setup?

im also assuming im gonna need an oil rad or somethin for the dark time as temp is low.

im going to have to include a carbon filter in the set up as the smell is a big no no.

any suggestions on which fans i will need?

also worried about noise levels, i dont want neighbours thinking i have an engine room in loft. i live in a newish semi so sound proofing from next door isnt tremendous. are the standard fans very noisy.

Hey budsdy building my first room as well and decided to go with the following. The Dark Room Tents come with a reflective material so have opted for that instead, also there supposed to be better. Hope my list helps somewhat. A BTW The fan is a package that consists of carbon filter, ducting and extraction fan all from the above top right link smoke.gif

I was thinking three of those clip on fans. One above the tent to stop heat rising onto roof and to keep. One in the tent to circulate air and the other by the tent pushing air in

Never used a 250 in less than 4 foot 6 myself.

You're going to need to be very good at cloning and training - especially if you don't want to limit yourself to indicas.

Diverse genetics from seed grown "au naturel" would be a no no.

Thanks.

possibly, depends if you get a big enoug extractor and have large enough passives for adequate airflow.

maybe you can get heating mat, put it under the waterproof liner of your tent on timer. or put lights on at night?

125mm? maybe 100 would do, but better safe than sorry biggrin.gif

put the fan in a box, wood or cardboard, line with carpet or fill wite bubble wrap. suspend so it dont vibrate. something something. expect to make lots of tweaks for the first 5 or 6 years lol.gif
