Im about week 2 in flowering and i cannot find a shoot without loads of white hairs coming out of it, my question is can i still take a snip and clone the plant even though buds are premature and starting to form on all shoots showing white hairs all over.
I basically found a lovely bubbalicious tall and healthy female, plenty of height and loads of buds sites forming, want to clone this plant a few times to have another tray next grow of the same plant genetics and bud formation.
Will it still revert back to vegging, assuming it may take long but my question is have i left it to late with all the white hairs showing?

Hi,
Yes you can take a cutting from a flowering plant.
It will generally root a lot faster than a vegetative clone.
You will have to then revert the plant by giving 24hr or 18hr days.......this can take some time (many weeks) and be prepared for some very odd, twisted looking growth.
So, yes it can be done.....bit of a pain, but worth it if you really want to preserve the genetics.

Would it not revert faster being in aeroponics, heard that plants revert back to vegging faster in this system?
Having said that should not matter as have no space to flower them for 12 weeks perhaps even 16 weeks as got plenty of plants 2 weeks away from flowering now.
4 months in a propagator, fucking hell, sounds like a major headache, talk about drink the tank daily, 6 weeks was bad enough.

Ime flowering plant clones take longer to root not quicker
And if you root them on 24hrs light it dont take weeks to revert back to veg ime, especially only 14 days in
Ive took clones no end of times a couple of weeks in and tbh they have only been a week-10 days behind a veg clone,if that

This is contrary to how I've found things Owd - perhaps it was just the strain I was using, BOG Lifesaver in this case.
It is reputed to have some phenos finishing 45-48 days in (mine took 52) and the bud sets are quite advanced at 2 weeks in 12/12.
The cuts, though rooted in a matter of days took an age to start throwing out what I would call 'normal growth' and there was a lot of twisted and gnarled vegetation in between.

If their showing white hairs , it will take longer, I know thats seems unfair. But if it was up to tony blair, your growroom wouldnt even be there. just give them lots of care, and they will soon share with you some great weed. Hopefully with no seed.

I'm inclined to agree with Owd, they take longer to root - but as I have not ever measured this, its just a hunch, a gut feeling

No they don't. If they did mine would never root at all since my lights never vary from 18/6 or 20/4.
Cuts will take what they're given, and thrive - that's what they are programmed for, survival. Folks fuss o'er much with 'em is my view, and that's when things go tits-up. Chop 'em, stick 'em in compost, water, warmth and light ... job's a good'un.

I'm finding my clones are root faster on 18/6 compared to 24/0, i did my 1st set of clones on 18/6 and they rooted in 7-10 days then my next lot were done with 24 hours of light and these took 14 days but i just took some 1 week ago on friday there and there just in my veg/mother tent which runs 18/6 and there was roots after 7 days.
Theres no other difference apart from the light cycle so cant see any reason for it, same white rhino mother, same jiffy pellets, same bottle of clonex and temps are the same also.

Just thought i'd add that i took 4 clones from my G13 x Skunk#1 one week ago yesterday and the plants were 2 weeks into flower and the cuttings had small buds basically formed on them yet last night when i checked them 2/4 had roots through so it doesnt appear to have slowed them down one little bit.
Oh and they were on 18/6

isn't cloneing from a flowering plant more or less revegging as well as rooting.i've always revegged on 24/24 but 18/6 on veg clones.i showed a plant yesterday i cloned about 4 weeks into flower apart from strange shaped leaves she seems healthy enough.

Recently cut the top off a flowering clone and rooted it under 12/12 in around 10 days, it's currently revegging under 24hrs light just now doing fine. I reckon a lot of that's down to the strain but shows cuts the kind of abuse they can take.
