My mate and I are both growing grapefruit. Both are using nft. I have two tanks with1200watts and he has one tank and 600 watts. I grew some cuts which we both started vegging on the same day. He vegged with a new grolux 600 whilst I grew with a sodium and a mh. We both went on 12/12 on the same day.I swapped to a growlux and a sodium and he switched to a sodium after 3 wks. Nearly two weeks ago his plants appeared to stop and just ripen up; mine have continued to swell up. Today is day 49 and his are ripe! Just had a look through the microscope and the trichs are turning amber!. The yield is way down. Mine are starting to ripen up now but still have well over a week left and the yield per square foot is obviously greater.

We have both been using vita link. His ph has remained between 5.7 and 6.1, cf 1.0-1.4. Temps max 29 min 19.

Could it be the wide swing in temps stopping growth early before time? Mine is only a 6 degree diff.; 25 - 19.

I grown this strain a few times and usually expect it ready 58 days or so.

I've checked his photo period and it's 12/12.

He's pissed off.

Any ideas why they stopped?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldnt of thought the 10 degrees difference in his temps would of made a difference, infact 10 degrees is recomended, well no more than anyway.

You say you used 1200 watt and he used 600 ??

Not centigrade though no.gif

Yes it could be the temp issue,it could also be environment full stop, could be the water, and it could also be more contaminated air at his place

You cant really compare like that, every grow room is different even though the difference aint obvious

Thanks for looking in Owd. We both have the same water supply but he does live near a granite quarry and his car gets dusty. If it was the air quality, i would have thought he would have seen this phenominuim before.
