Looking for a decent strain to grow some Thai weed, I love the taste of these stains and would like to find a decent seedbank in order to pick some up, anyone grown thai and what strain did you choose, any strains to avoid?

I think the stuff i originally bought from a mate was thai stick, looks like twigs, brownish in colour, not really sure if these strains are hard to grow, on my first grow at present with a fe different strains.

authentic thai weed im not sure what seedbank mate.. used to smoke lots of thai stuff where i came from and always had to pick out seeds out the bricks i used to buy.

I basically found out from someone off the boards that real thai is exceptionally strong, also love the taste so thought would grow some, I basically bought some from a mate a while ago, dealer as such.

yeah mate real thai is quite strong, gives u that "somethings between my eyes" feeling after the first few tokes. i'll try doing a search to see which strain claims to be closest to authentic cause im interested too get back to ya later mate

Have a look at Destroyer from Cannabiogen if you can afford it. There's more if you look around.

Presumably you're talking about commercial stuff here? I had some Thai Stick in Singapore that were very nice and if I could get those here I'd be over the moon.

If you search on google there are a few seed banks offering Thai crosses. Gypsy Nirvana (Seedbay) has some interesting looking landrace stock and at Nirvana's website they have Traveling Thai which sounds nice too, a few options to look at.

Kulu, bought some 15 years ago, very good much better than bagseed thai although both will hermie.Must be in the Genes.Strong high quite racey and tastes great.Crossed some to BigBud and then Afghan/Skunkno1 and the plants were massive and thick and took too long to finish and then hermied inside and although they didnt hermie outside it took till the end of November to finish.Worth doing if you have enough light.

Bought a pack of Thaitanic which i'll be starting in January, it'll be my first time trying it so not sure how it's gonna turn out? , pretty sure it's a thai x skunk#1, read mixed reports on it, hopefully i find a pheno that leans for to the thai side

Isn't the laws in singapore really dodgy with even the smallest amounts of anything, I would be crapping myself off topic sorry

Used to get some lovely Thai here a few years ago (bout 10), have occasionally seen it since here and in the dam but it's a bit naff to be honest and very very seeded

I don't know if any of the seed companys do 'proper' Thai, as opposed to Thai hybrids which're acclimatised for indoor growing. Doc Benway mentioned 'The Destroyer' and if any seed firm would do one I would of thought them (Canna Biogen) but they claim to have had to cross their Thai mum as she was unmanageable - I dont have special knowledge thats just what I read on their blurb)

Would love to try 'The Destroyer', but I'm gonna have to get better at this growing thing before I try those special genetics.

Be interested to know more of Thaitanic too. Ringing distant bells but I'm too wasted to go check. Is it a skunk #1 cross? Just rearead - nice one Bazza, love to hear about that one

The 'Thai' I've smoked I've loved, here andin Holland, but I doubt if it was true Thai stick, even if it had a bit of stick in it still, that had a kovely soaring up high - I'd love to try the 'real' Thai stick, but I think I'd have to get all Indiana Jones and go on a mission thru jungles and up into mountainous highlands. Even the semi real one I had years ago was gorgeous though. I bet peeps here could grow even nicer than that, even if the genetics to 'pure' Thai are no longer available

It was well dangerous even then - early 80's - but I got them from a dyke on Bugis Street, a hot spot for night time street bars and everything that goes with it including loads of transvestites and transsexuals too. The first chance I had to try the weed after I bought it was neat in a single skinner and it wouldn't light properly so I threw it - 3 or 4 minutes later I felt a weed rush like nothing I'd had before or since for that matter. I got some similar in Malaysia too - very nice and nicely presented in little brown paper rolls neatly folded up like boiled sweets.

That would be my choice also unless you have a lot of time on your hands Took seven years of development I believe. Then of course you have Seedsman's Mama Thai, reckoned to be 'pure' Thai and finish in 11 weeks , however I've have had some good results from Seedsman and they are very reasonably priced seeds just expect it to go over the 11 weeks.

Real Thai weed is in a class of it's own.
