Alright guys,
I`ve been asked a few times about my growroom and it`s workings so I thought I`d post some pics and info seeing as it`s just had a good clean out. Plus I`ve now got 12 days off work so I`ve plenty of time yahoo.gif . Right where do I start...
My flower room, or cupboard I built in my bedroom by building a false wall up one side of the room. My bedroom was large and my growroom used to be small so I kind of met in the middle rofl.gif . So a mate threw up some studding and plasterboard and I decorated and added some coving to make it look like it should be there then I threw my wardrobe onto a set of castor's (that was a fucking mission and the wardrobe is now doing it`s best impression of the leaning tower of pisa rofl.gif ) , and there we have it, a hidden growroom wink1.gif
The room dimensions are approx just under 3ft wide, 8ft long and about 8ft high.

These pics are about 12 months old but everything is identical as it is now except I`ve got diamond reflective sheeting instead of mylar these days.

Lighting is 2x600w Lumnitek digi`s with hps bulbs and (not so) mini Grostar reflectors. The lights are hung using nylon washing line which is threaded through hooks and eyes and tied up to fittings which you use to hold curtain tie backs. It works really well and I can adjust the height of both lights independently from right in front of me when I open the door wink1.gif.

For ventilation I have a TD800 for extraction straight into the loft, a TD350 for intake and 2 oscillating fans. A small one between the lights blowing down and a large one blowing across th canopy. I adjust the height of it as the plants grow by just unscrewing the eye hook that it hangs from and then just screwing it back in further up the beam.
The floor is lined with the stuff used for tanking cellars and is as waterproof as it gets and has enough of a lip on it to hold my res a few times over, handy when you live in a first floor flat rofl.gif .

I grow in rockwool as you know using 6 slabs which sit on a framework which dips to the centre where the run off drips into guttering and drains back into the res. The res holds 100ltrs with room to spare (£20 from B&Q wink1.gif ) and is just a plastic water tank which has had a few few bits cut out to accommodate the drippers. In the res are 4 airstones and two pumps, one for the drippers and one just to pump the solution around.
The dripper setup runs under my trays and I`ve tied it to some bamboo canes to keep it straight, and there`s 5 drippers to each slab. 3 for the plants and 2 go in between then straight into the slabs, these are fastened a little tighter wink1.gif. What you can`t see in the pics below is that under the guttering in the middle there is tubing joining the two main lengths. This is where it is connected to the pump in the res and makes sure the water pressure is as even as can be.

I`ve also just bought an adjustable ozone generator suitable for areas as low as 10 cubic meters so it should be fine in my growroom. They`re supposed to help against mould as well as the smell, we`ll soon see because I`ve always got a bud or two with budrot at the end. I wonder if they`d help against LSF? unsure.gif

I think that about covers things! rofl.gif I`ll give a run down on my veg room when I get a chance. This weed I`m smoking doesn`t half make me ramble rofl.gif

wicked set up matey,

but be carefull with that ozone in your bedroom, we use it at work and its nasty shit, it can cause nose bleeds and severe headaches, so make sure your venting when its being used.

very tidy set though mate, cool.gif

Would it be any easier getting a few more hooks in there and just moving it from hook to hook?

Thats awesome Burns thumbsup.gif , 100% stealth mate ph34r.gif , i'd love a grow room like that, it's a bit of a pain having to take the grow room down everytime i finish a grow 34.gif , how long did it take to build it?, peace, Baz yinyang.gif

hay up burns thats a 1st class job you'v done there mate welldone (leepy)

Hi Stonehenge,
Thanks for the kind words mate wink1.gif. I have trouble explaining my room myself, thats the main reason I posted, to show what exactly goes on underneath the slabs what you don`t see. Like a duck on water all is peaceful above but a little hectic below! rofl.gif

Alright withnail mate,
Now that would be my dream job, building growrooms for a living and I`d do it if I could but would you trust me to come and do yours! rofl.gif It`s a shame we have to hide it from the world not knowing who we can and cannot trust 34.gif . Maybe one day day eh wink1.gif.

Hey redeyes420,
Cheers pal. The ozone generator is on constantly on it`s lowest setting at the moment and all the fans are on 24/7 wink1.gif. I know what you mean though, safety first so I`ve been out and bought some ozone test strips and I`ve hung one in my growroom and one in my bedroom. I`ve just got to wait an hour now for the results. I don`t think it will be a problem in my bedroom though with all the air being sucked through it, I can`t slam my bedroom door shut I know that! rofl.gif

Hi welly,
The main reason I built it in the first place is because I have a son (who stays at weekends) he`s now 4 and hasn`t ever seen or suspected a thing, plus it`s a council flat whistling.gif so it`s easily hidden should they decide to pay me a visit wink1.gif.

scarface, the mrs and leepy,
Cheers for you comments, much appreciated.

Hi bazza,
It took a day to build the false wall and a couple of days to get all of the decorating done, and the room and setup has been in the making for a few years now rofl.gif , there`s always something to upgrade when I get some spare cash but at the moment I`m happy with how it is wink1.gif.

Alright brad,
I used to combat the smell just by venting into the loft whistling.gif . I bought an Odorsok but ditched it after 2 days and there`s no room for a carbon filter in there, that`s why I`ve bought the ozone generator. The smell has never really been a problem, it`s detectable in the last few weeks of flower slightly but hopefully no more wink1.gif. My flat (or the councils rofl.gif ) is a first floor cottage flat and it`s actually quite big, 2 big bedrooms and large lounge and a huge kitchen. Its actually bigger than the two bedroom house my brother used to have! rofl.gif And I`ve never had any comments from my neighbors, and they`d be the first to complain at the slightest hint of a smell the moaning bastards, they complain to the council about the noise when I so much as fart! rofl.gif

Cheers all,
Burns cool.gif

thought I'd better say there is a photo on your desk! anonymity being as high on the agenda wink1.gif

Tell me what color my eyes are then! rofl.gif The quality of the pics has been reduced enough that I doubt the FBI could pic me up from that picture wink1.gif. But well spotted mate.

ummmm er green rofl.gif

if your venting 24/7 then your should be fine re, the ozone mate
Burns
Close but no cigar redeyes mate rofl.gif
As for the ozone generator, the test strips haven`t picked anything up at all with it on it`s lowest setting which means it`s concentration is lower than 40 P.P.B (parts per billion). So I`m going to leave it as it is for now and I`ll probably turn it up once in flower, unless of course I can`t smell anything wink1.gif. And I`ve got a couple of spare test strips just in case.

hey bro.. So cool to see the 'inner workings' of your grow space.. I always expected it to be so much bigger from the pics ...Man - 32oz from the space you have it simply amazing.. and you said you have had bigger yeilds.. guitar.gif

I see what you mean about loosing alot of space to the Timber Frame - Would be cool if you could get a low profile rez and like you said possibly try some sativa's etc.. cool.gif

I think alot should and will learn from your grow room and if they use the (KISS - keep it simple stupid) they will all be laughing smile.gif yahoo.gif

Btw what ozone generator are you using? they sound alot more cost effective then using carbon filters and etc.. alien2.gif

Anyways bro.. thanks for sharing.

Psy
Burns
Hey Cytrax mate,
Yeah I don`t do too bad given my space rofl.gif , 51oz is my record in My First Grow Diary but I can`t see it being beat anytime soon and to be honest I just don`t need that amount of weed even though it get`s split 3 ways.

I`ve got some sativa dominant strains on my hit list but I`m thinking of ditching the drippers and slabs for a while and growing in pots with coco which will alow me to let them get up to 5ft tall. I was thinking of just growing 8-10 plants in there and seeing how it goes wink1.gif. My stash is starting to mount up, I`ve got about 12oz with more only about 10 weeks away and I can`t smoke it all as well as working 48hrs a week, believe me I try! rofl.gif

The ozone generator is an IKON Pirahna, I`d take a pic but my batteries are dead at the moment and my charger is knackered, it`s costing me a fortune in disposable batterys and I`ve ran out but I`ll be getting some later so I`ll post a pic for you wink1.gif.

Thanks pal,
Burns cool.gif

Just wanted to drop you a quick one to say how impressed I am at your grow room! I wish I had a space like that to grow in and stealth up with a wardrobe! It's inspirational! biggrin.gif

Keep up the good work!

Peace! spliff.gif
KC
Very nice mate, 8ft head height too, lucky sod stoned.gif
Burns
Hi Harlin,
Thanks a lot mate, the thing is since my girlfriend left uni and moved in with me my wardrobe`s weigh has quadrupled at least and it`s not so mobile now! rofl.gif Emergency's only wink1.gif.

Alright KC33,
It`s 8ftish floor to ceiling but with the framework and the depth of the reflectors the biggest I can let my plants grow at the moment is about is abolut 3.5 to 4ft, that`s why I`m considering getting rid of the dripper setup after my current grow and growing in pots of coco. I`ll be growing Afghan Haze x Afghan Skunk and Bangi Haze next so I think I`m going to need that extra headroom.

Cheers,
Burns cool.gif

quality grow room, might nick your idea one day.

you said you ditched the odorsok, what was the problem with it? im using an odorsok at the moment, used to use CF's but they were a pain in the arse because of the weight of them but i do think the CF's are better.

i've been thinkin of using an o-zone generator or an ultraviolet ozonator but cant decide which, one you put on an extractor fan and the other you put in the room, but i've read you cant go in the room when it's on.

i grow in my bedroom extracting out of the window that leads onto the balcony (as im in a high-rise flat) and when i stand on the balcony i cant smell a thing so the odorsoks seem to be working, whereas if i stand at my front door or at the bathroom window (which is that the front aswel) it stinks.

i've drawn a diagram just to see if you can help - a bit worrying as a neighbour mentioned the smell the other day - lucky its finished now.

well it could be with bit of imagination and few tokes! wondering if you can help, ive just read that after soaking rockwool cubes ur meant to leave for 24hrs.well mines have been soaking since last nite and just put nutes in 5mins ago.im getting cuttings 2nite will it matter if cubes r not left 24hrs?if so can i leave transplanting till 2moro?id rather get it done 2nite as my head is done in. unsure.gif
Burns
Hey miss haze,
When I soak my cubes I only soak them for a few hours to be honest, and that`s in a solution that already has nutrients in (a weak one mind). In my opinion they`ll be fine going straight in wink1.gif.

Hi bong head,
Yep, it`s a studded wall mate. It`s not insulated but there`s a layer of plasterboard on each side of the studding wink1.gif. And I just skimmed over where the sheets of plasterboard joins and papered over. It wont be easy (or possible rofl.gif ) to remove but it`s a council flat so I couldn`t give a shit really, I`ll be getting a house of my own in the next year or two so the council can worry about it when I`ve left rofl.gif .

As for noise levels, it would be silent if it wasn`t for the intake coming through the wall and sucking from my bedroom but it doesn`t keep me awake one bit wink1.gif. Hope this helps mate.

What you need is a TMU mate, a timer modification unit, plugs into your segmented timer and sets for a lesser period of time, so you set your timer for 15mins and then set the TMU to only run for say 6 mins of that time.

wow! another inspiring room! ^5 m8! Thats a nice thing you have going on.

just spent an good 1/2h reading your grow diary's that outrageous i love the grow truly an inspiration
ive just started a little grow 8 pants nft there just 3 weeks old i just hope get a result even a 1/2 as good as you got there i would be over the moon there astounding im stunned every credit to ya for showing us the way lol.gif
ive got to get over the problems of switching 12/12 in a week or so(temps humidity etc ) There going into flower @ 4 weeks as the strain has a tendency to stretch my bud has a nr 5foot tall plant 2 weeks into flower mine ar like little fat bushes @ the mo and the main stalk in thicker than any of his 8 week old plants hehehe hes quite envious but not a patch on how green i am after seeing that huge pile you had in 2006
nice one ...
