Full Version: Got Some Seeds From My Thai.any Good?
UK420 > Cultivation > Strain Base > Strain Talk
Budmum

Hope this is the right place for my question....

Just bought myself a Christmas Pressy. santa.gif

A £20 bag of Thai grass. yahoo.gif

Not having smoked for 6 months(By choice) I rolled myself a fat one, didn't pace myself, rolled another....And had to go to bed. blushing.gif stoned.gif

Looked up Thai in the UK420 strain thingy and I found a description,it is a sativa isn't it?

I'm probably not looking in the right section, but what I want to know is....

I have found about 10 seeds within the rather compacted mass.I will pop them anyway, but what are the chances of getting a crop?

I didn't think much of it at first, thought it looked compacted and dry,no buds as such, but a friend noticed the red string and said it was Thai.
But it works, not quite sure if I like it,not quite sure what Thai is...But its certainly better than the 'Skunk' that is usually available round here.

Trying to make it last. Some hope. whistling.gif

Peace.

dont know if id risk growing it budmum, thai is from what ive read quite a demanding sativa strain which could grow very tall very fast and takes forever and a day to flower them.ive no idea about your grow space or experience because you havent filled in your profile but growing maryjane can be quite expensive anyway so spending a few quid on seeds is alot safer option, takes abit of the guess work out of it.merry crimbles, njoy your smoke!

hi budmum, i know the tai you talk of and i have seeds aswel i will be growing them out next year for a guerilla grow aswel as other seeds. but its worth the chance whats the worst that can happen it gets to big and you have 2 cut it back or chop it down. goodluck

Sorry to dissapoint but that weed with red string isn't likely to be real Thai. If you've got nothing else on then it might be worth trying but be prepared for some crazy stretching depending on what it really is and an extended flowering period. Real Thai strains can go 20 or 30 weeks eek.gif

yeah am with bob. I read somewhere that thai strains do have a tendency to hermie quite easily, which is where those seeds prolly came from,, another hermie.

Personally I wouldn't risk it either. Sow em in a field somewhere and see how they do. wink1.gif

Maybe you could buy a pack of seeds to grow along with them, if those thai plants become too much of a problem you'll have the seeds you bought to fall back on?, Baz

Thank you all for your replies.

Dirtdog.I haven't filled in my profile ,because there is nothing to put in it...Yet.

I have smoked home grown for years. My husband, who died tragically a while back, did all the work.
I just watched,trimmed,and smoked.
My son carried the baton for a few years, then he upped and moved abroad with his young family...

I have a boxful of seeds in the fridge, mostly Sativas,so the Thai I will save for a very rainy day....But the seeds we created(or rather nature did)
are pretty good and I don't need to buy any.
(Although I'm tempted to get some Hashberrys, been looking today....)

I have lights,a bit of knowledge, and live in a place where I am not happy to start a grow.

In the meantime I'm desperately trying to make that Thai last...

Felix,what is it then?
I didn't know about the red string until a friend commented on it,said it would be an amazing smoke.
Still not sure what I think of it.

Thanks again folks. cheers.gif

hey budmum! was the red string a pistil?? wouldnt be thai if it was... i would follow others advice and find somewhere rural to plant them in spring and go back and check them if you remember. they would be likly to be a problem if you grew them indoors.
