Evening all,

over the past two days I have been plagued by full screen pop ups for everything from Sky TV to Porn, I have run adaware, spybot and Avast anti virus, I have turned XP's popup blocker to full protection but they still kepp appearing.

Is there anything else I can do ? Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me mad.

I have not installed any new software recently,

First of all, use Firefox for web browsing if you're not already, also use the Adblock plugin for it.

Second, give your PC a scan with the Ewido online scanner.

If this doesn't help, then you could post a log from a HijackThis scan to see what's up.

Cheers Scribble, just tried all that and right on cue as soon as Ewido had finished removing all the things it found a full screen poker fromSKy popped up !!!!

I think something a bit more sinister is going on though because when I tried downloading Stopzilla as suggested by herbalboxer, I click on the link frm the googe search and the browser closes, every time !!!

Just trying firefox again.

any ideas ?

Download Xoftspy from a torrent site, should be around 3 mb's or so, will remove most it not all pop up's, spyware, viruses, etc.

As Scribble says, changing to Firefox may well solve all your problems.

Have you gained a toolbar ? Sometimes adware is actually uninstallable in the Control Panel, sometimes the perp's website will tell you how to uninstall it.

Can you CTRL ALT DEL and get the task manager up ?
(inability to do this would suggest a virus rather than just adware.)
