Here she is, measures 135cm wide, 75cm deep and 200cm tall, has 3 doors on front (45cm wide) , the left door is fixed and the middle and right door are hinged and light proofed (b&q P section draught excluder).
600 watt Lumatek digital ballast
Adjustawing reflector (70cm x 50cm)
600 Watt Son T Plus changing for phillips this week (HPS)
5" Rvk extract with 50cm matching CF
4" Rvk intake
Primair controller (currently maintaining 27/28c lights on)
2 x Digi Hydrometer/Temp Guage
4' Tube Heater (160w I think and not currently installed)
The drobe was made from contiboard (melamine) sheets from b&q and some beech effect panels for the doors. the fans are in the the attic and thats also where the air is extracted too as well as taken from. This is actually mark2 this did have a cooltube in and I was intaking from a window I made some changes after my first grow and believe the adjustawing was best for spreading the light up my long shape. It has room for 8 '11 litre square pots' in fact you could probably squeeze 10 in or maybe 15 or 18 '6.5 litre pots' I have 7 girls in there right now 6 would have been better but I got lucky on a pack of 10 seeds and had 8 females (ss chronic)
I also have a veg cab with a 125 watt enviro you can see my thread on that

I wish I could take better photo's but its in a very small room, I only have about 90cm in front of the drobe to the wall and about 80cm to the right towards the door, this room also has a chest of drawer and my stealth cab in so its all very cramped.

In this photo you can see the carbon filter and ducting that goes through the drobe top and into the loft above where the fan is situated, you can also see the black soil pipe, the intake fan is blwoing through this solid pipe straight down into the growroom. Thats the prima controller on the back wall, my cf and my circulating fans are all mounted on bungees, the rvks are silent in the loft, the clip on fans make more noise than anything else if they arent dangling on bungees.

these chronic are 18 days into flower, I been training the main colas a bit by bending them to slow there upward growth and hopefully even the canopy up too, I gave the lower quarter of the plant a trim for the first and probably last time a few days ago. They should be ready beginning of jan.

In this photo you can see how much floor space I got inside for the pots, those are 25cm or 10" pots, I have 3 on the front row and 4 on the back row. If you see where the digi therometer are now thats where I would sit the tube heater when I install it (soon as its getting colder).
The plants are in westlands advanced plus, they aint been fed yet other than some maxicrop seeweed extract on the last watering a few days ago. They also had some trichoderma powder watered in and a foliar misting of epsom salts. I threw some rockdust on top of the soil before I topped it up (didnt have it earlier to add in before the soil was used. Got biobizz grow and bloom ready to go when they need it (if I notice they need it), Might give them some Molasses next watering then maybe biobizz watering after that as thats about 4 weeks in flower then.

yeah last time I had a cooltube in, can you imagine a cooltube trying to spread the light 135cm wide with this configuration (pic below)
Yet again I got too many plants in, I germintated 10 SS chronic and got 8 females, I flowered 7. I think from seed 6 in 11lt pots is good but I would love to do a grow with some cuttings, fingers crossed the ones Im waiting on root out.
e2a, the pots in the pic below are 6.5 litre, looks like I can fit 15 or 18 of them in now there's a thought for some cuttings

e2a, the config below is mark 1, thats when I had the fans inside (now in attic) it was also on a different wall which is why I got a decent pic of it (stood on landing) I basically stripped it out, patched all ducting holes up and re-worked the whole thing...

The dilemma appears to be that the cooltube is difficult to accommodate in the correct orientation in most people's spaces without vicious bends in the pipe.....
It'll be interesting to see how your grow compares to Owderb's vertical lamp.
I'm green with envy at the size of your 'drobe and that lovely lamp

All very shipshape

Nov 24 2007, 08:39 AM
I dont think its possible to compare a grow of mine with one of owderbs unless its a how not too and and how too comparison

With this grow I am really trying to find good chronic genetics get a good mother, then next time round grow with cuttings and all the extra ingredients and then maybe we will have somthing to compare. However I may have screwed up as I killed the cuttings I took before I flicked over to flower by thinking the 40watt room light 4ft above the propagator would be ok duh! I have took more cuttings but 2 weeks into flower so we'll see if they root. They got a flouro on the prop lid on 24/7 (which I always had btw just didnt use it)
Look out for a '15 baby chronic cuts' diary hopefully sometime in jan
PS I got 7oz under the cooltube from 8 durga mata seedlings that were vegged for about 9 weeks (thats 0.37 grams per watt). I vegged them for too long and it got all very bushy in there. Im hoping for 10oz this time and maybe 15oz next time with good genes (1 oz per cutting maybe

sweet sweet drobe my man!
i have a similar setup only with smaller wattage lights
do you have any issues with the sound of the fans humming
i used my fan controller to slow the blades but it didn't really stop the noise
keep up the good work!

both my 4" and 5" rvks are pretty silent no matter what speed I run them, when they were in the drobe I couldnt hear them and I certainly cant now they are in the loft, the clip on fans are louder and the pc fans running the veg cab next to the flower cab is louder still!
Don't mean to pick faults, just a safety thing, but i'd be worried having my ballast on the floor next to the pots!
Lovely looking grow though mate, well done!

Nov 30 2007, 05:04 AM
Cheers for the observation ... the last picture is an old one, the ballast was removed and is now mounted on the top pf the drobe this was done for heat reasons not safety (im not an oaf with the watering can) but that whole setup has been changed, the fans are in the loft, the cooltube is out and a adjustawing is in.

Of course I read your thread before I even started building mine! A drobe is a great way to grow when you live in a pretty full house. I'd love to use the whole room (2m x 1.5m) but its just not feesable when you got kids running about.

here's another shot of the floor plan, as you can see there's room for eight '11 litre square pots' in the tray but 10 if I remove it although I wouldnt like to have that many, 6 is the magic number in future unless I use 6.5 litre pots.

I stopped counting at £1500 but tha includes a small amount on a stealth veg can, that also includes all the things I bought and never used or have since removed or broken like the cooltube, acoustic ducting etc it also includes ferts, pots and such I guess if we add the seeds and the recent additions (new bulb, adjustawing, tube heater etc its probably not far off £2000 but I bet I could build it all again for £750

Im using SBPI to keep the mites at bay and seems to be working, and I used the citrofresh for the LSF I only gave them one application and it seems to have either stopped it or slowed it down, Its only really affecting one or two plants and not a massive attack like I seen some peeps with. Both nothing to worry about anyhows. Im going to be innoculanting my plants wih trichoderma in future I already had some but never used it as a folair spray before.

local hydro shop, they are solid good quality ones, I looked at the cheap ones in B&Q and they look poor quality imo, I paid £14.99 each I think, I have 3 running, the one that hangs pointing at the bulb only comes on when the light comes on, although I may put it on constant for the last 2 weeks which is when I usually whack the fans upto full speed too (providing its not too cold) to get the airflow rate up. I got a 900w oil rad (£19.99 b&q) in there now for lights off, I didnt trust the tube heater they are meant to be hung on a brick wall I think.

hi established,
looking great on your front!! You say bought some acoustic ducting but dont appear too be using it, has that anything to do with how little flexibility it has? Just bought some the other day for my homebox xxl as i needed to quieten things down a little. The setup is pretty similar to your drobe, filter - cootubes- fan. What a nightmare its been to fit and now i dont have the movement i require in the lights

the 4" and 5" rvk's are very quiet anyway. I cant hear them! they are now in the loft, you must have been looking at the old picture. Even when they were in the drobe I didnt bother with it I had heat issues not noise problems. I even pulled out the cooltube and got an Adjustawing, I got rid of the small stubby PHAT cf and got a bigger budget one ... there's many things I bought and no longer using. The only noise I have is from the clip on fans but I managed to quieten them by hanging them on bungees.

Although my amazon fitted in there there wasnt any space around it so I took the carcass out of the equation and am now growing in the corner of the room (1m sq)
