Trust me, that is so not true! It is a myth that has been circulating for yonks, and I fear has stopped many folks obtaining much needed therapy.
It is true that indicas have great muscle relaxing properties. But it is also true that indicas are lethargy inducing, and for folks in need of 24/7 therapy this can often be an unwanted side effect.
I have also heard that some cancer patients find better relief from the nausea of chemotherapy when they use sativas.
Personally, I prefer hybrids, and sativa dominant ones at that. I find they better address my particular therapeutical requirements. They are better at lfting my mind off pain, and at elevating my mood so that I do not end up depressed (a common thing with me).
Its all horses for courses in the end, but don't rule out sativas, not by a long chalk. They are just as useful as indicas in the therapy stakes, indeed, often more useful wink1.gif

exactly, I couldn't have said it better Arnold. 60/40 works best for me! A nice body effect attached to an uplifting sativa, witout the murkyness in the head. I like to be medicated, but get things done as well.

Jack Herer is a great smoke for enhancing mood, real happy smoke and i found exactly the same with Super Silver Haze thumbsup.gif

Friends of mine with ankylosing spundulitis and other back problems seem to rate sativa doms too. Tiki Green Devil makes a great pain killer while leaving you able to do your stuff so that'd be my medical recommendation. I got mine in a packet of Tiki Mix which was a tenner (although I won it for free)
Yoda Indica
i agree that not all people respond well to indicas only.
i myself like to smoke mainly indicas, and a few hybrids in between.

doin indica only will make me too tolerant, and not gettin me high at all
one gram of hybrid to one ounce of pure indica is a minimum to me to keep the balance right
RED-EYE-GEEZA
I hate strains which give an uncomfortable and stupifying high. I like those that give a nice warm buzzy content feeling, i find spicy tasting strains seem to carry this characteristic.
Weed Genie
I find Pot of Gold best for me.

Buddy MacBudderson
Though I have not tried it yet, I hear Romulan is a great strain for medicinal purposes. I have heard people say that it is quite possibly some of the strongest stuff out there.

try Greenhouse Big Bang, it is medicinal class, make for the dutch pharmacies..

also easy to grow and stays small, and I'll tell you how good it is in about 4 weeks yahoo.gif
Dr Benways Assistant
I find pure sats are next to useless for my Crohn's but I'm smoking some juicy fruit (or fruity juice can't remember) that's a sat dom that helps nicely. The purer sat I'm smoking little or no body effect at all.

POG is good and tastes amazing, blueberry also good but fav is white rhino/medicine man for med purposes. These three are all ind/sat hybrids.

Some good info people biggrin.gif I need to try a range of different strains and find one or a few that meets my needs i think! the satvias like haze pog and kali mist sound good but cuz im after strains that are renowned for there medicinal muscle relaxants and a heavy body with a knock out stone to give ya a good nights sleep rofl.gif i dont want nothing too heady as this usually makes me head spin and keeps me up all night with a wired type effect cry.gif To smoke a sliff and after maybe one or two drags then start getting a strong body feeling which after half a joint sort of makes u almost wretch with its potency smoke.gif especially when you hold the smoke in your chest a bit more and warms you up, wraps its arms around u and has u getting the munchies then leaving u for dead after too much yahoo.gif Thats my sort of ideal smoke guitar.gif ,its probably why i leaned towards indicas rather than satvias but there both great in there own right,so a mix of the two makes sense biggrin.gif cheers everyone smoke.gif LGI smoke.gif

I've read on a few sites that Master Kush is very good as a medicinal breed...just haven't tried it yet as they are still growing!! Urban Grower (YouTube) has said that it's one of his favourites and he seems to visit "another medical marijuana grow op" all the time on his vids.

Hiya i have also seen his vids and they are outstanding for learning from yahoo.gif Kush strains are good for medical use well i read that somewhere biggrin.gif
