Hi all,
Apologies for dumb question but cannae find answer anywhere on here.
Can you fit envirolights into standard (HID) reflectors?
I am going to upgrade my reflector and create a veg room so I intend to buy an enviro and fit it to my old 400watt reflector. Is this Ok or are they different fittings?
Thanks

Yes you can fit them in to normal reflectors - just use a kettle lead instead of plugging in to the ballast.
They don't fit in some types of reflectors though......the supanova types spring to mind (the type with 2 curves in the reflector forming a point where the lamp sits)......hope thats clear (as mud!)

quick Q, does this work the other way around?? Got an enviro and reflector, could I put a 250 HPS bulb in this? and how would I get to the ballast from the 13a plug thats on there?
thnx

Yea, they are both GE40 sockets so do fit in each others holes. As it were.
You can do it the other way round - but you need to replace the 13amp house socket with a ballast. So it's exact opposite.
I got a cheapo reflector which doesn't quite fit with a enviro (its a 250 powerplant one) but by bending the metalbracket (which holds the E40) it fits
