Got some Ferro nutrients and was wondering if anybody else out there is using them? I got the saturate, veg & bloom. Which I will use with Canna's Rhizotonic & enzyme. They will be used to feed plants on an NFT tray.

Would be good to hear from anybody else that is using them.

Cheers! ph34r.gif

As long as the Nutes you've got are designed for NFT ,like say 'Canna Aqua' is? Otherwise it might be worth buying that instead and saving the other stuff.

Eh? Whats wrong with the Ferro nuits for NFT? Not all nuits are system specific you know!

Basically your telling him that they arn't any good and to buy something different...which is a load of bull!
IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT >>>DONT ANSWER!!!

That says to me you are saying that the Ferro nuits have to be specifically designed for that system, which its utter bollocks. It doesnt read any other way to me.
Do you know how long NFT has been around compared to system specific nuits? Obviously not as your new to this growing lark and it shows in the way you give info out on these boards.

Peter, being new to this (like you) has more than likley read your reply and is now thinking he needs to buy different nuits as Ferro arnt designed soley for NFT. For the record it doesnt matter what hydro nuits you use in which setup as it all works!
So as well as giving totally misleading info out your also wanting to waste the guys money.... 34.gif

Peter, use your Ferro nuits for your NFT system, it will be fine, as would ANY hydro nuits!

you ll be fine in nft with these mate . i v used them in nft and hand fed mapito pots . it was their regional feed i was using , blended for our local tap water , so pH was spot on .

the thing i didn t like about them was the taste of the puf , even with a 3 week plain water flush . it seems to impart a distinctive unpleasant flavour/aftertaste , that i only got with ferro fed plants. i v spoken to other growers in my area who can also tell with a few puffs from a stick wether ferro was the feed used to grow it .

lol.gif fatman & hydro you guys are killing me here:D:D

For the record I aint so new to this, just new to Ferro & thought some here may have experience with them..... that being said cheers for the input from you both. I sure the Ferro will do just fine on the NFT.

johnyblaze, cheers mate.... that's the kind of response I was looking for. So there is a distinct 'Ferro' taste to the bud even with elongated flush ay?! that's not good to hear! pinch.gif I also have some Canna aqua so maybe I'll use there bloom instead. Can you describe this afertaste?
Thanks!!
johnyblaze
it s hard to describe . used them with a few diferent strains , and it was always there no matter how long it was flushed . you were tasting the weed , but also something else which shouldn t be there . it sticks to the roof of your mouth on the exhale , not nice!

too late to edit to add ... at the uk hemp fair in 05 i went looking for the ferro stand after seeing some folks with ferro hand-outs . found out they were sharing a stall , but had nobody there at the time . i asked the chap they were sharing with who was selling fans with built in misters (and his "patented hash maker" rofl.gif which looked like a quarter steel drum cut off, welded to a builders tresil, with a mecano set on the side rocking a net in the water) if he was with ferro . no , and i don t use them either he replied . he went on to say these are used in holland to grow cut flowers . not what you want for smoking ! do you grow hydro i asked him , no , we grow in soil , bio is better , what do you think of my machine ....... i grabbed a ferro folder of the counter and headed for a free grolsch and stick of my hydro Chronic .

Many thanks for this!

The power of the internet......

I like tailored Nutrients, miss Hydrotops..... and Ferro sounded all good....... they make nutrients for the glasshouse industry in Holland.....so for once, proper people not mad hippies.....So I was going to order a tub of tailored COCO food for 08..... but now I will not bother, you clearly know what you are on about, thanks.

Interesting aside..... re food and taste.... a lot of mates use Bcuzz bloom stim and boost [even with an otherwise Canna or whoever food] as they insist it tastes sweeter..... likewise beardy treehuggers big up soil as "the taste is better"..... when all I can taste is dirt..........

I sent Ferro a water sample. My water was quite hard. They analysed it and sent me a bespoke nutrient. I used it in an NFT system. I liked the way I had to use very little pH down to achieve optimum pH and I was very pleased with the results.

One more tip - do not spill the flower 'B' concentrate on an ivory white carpet. You'll never ever get it off ;-)

Should have taken the damn thing up in the first place ... tsssh...

So in conclusion, based on my experience (just two NFT grows) Ferro gets my wholehearted thumbs up for ease of use and results.
