I have 2 bags of Westlands Multi-Purpose Compost with added JI.

They have been sitting in my storage shed for 4-6 months. Are they ok to just use, or should I be ovening it to kill any nasties?

cheers
Bish
Six months is pushing it a bit. I wouldn't use the stuff personally.

I have some JAB + JI

I got it from a garden centre in september now I have no way of knowing how long they had it before me

I have it in a bag with added rockdust and a little seaweed meal and I have inoculated it now I know the compost needs time for these and no complaints with growth at the minute but the question how long can I leave it in the bag before it needs throwing

Is it easy to get fresh compost in the winter.
