Hi there i bought a pack of 17 Mr Nice Dreamtime seeds(not from uk420 shop)and germinated them in riot root cubes.
Only 2 cracked and they grew upside down mutant and died, the others havent even begun to crack so
i've taken them out of the cubes and am now going to try them in the paper towel method, do you think im wasting my time?
Dont know what i can do about this im just frustrated i lost my 35 quid.
Any chance of replacements please Shantibaba?

that sucks mate. Try soaking them in distilled water for 24 hrs first and then trying the paper towel method. you should get a whole lot better outcome than 2 of 17

So far I am enjoying 100% germination from my now very old pack of Shark Shock.
Nowt special done to them, just popped them under a cm or two of seedling compost and added water. TBH, I don't rate all that paper-towel mallarky and all the other "techniques". I Just pop 'em in compost, water and leave.
Works every time for me.

Tis how nature does it. I've never once seen a plant dropping its seeds onto wet bog roll & they all seem to manage perfectly well.

After they'd failed to germ in the riot cubes, i used the paper towel method as a last resort.
But i know what your saying - should keep it as natural as possible, good tip thanks booj, arnold.
I want to like mr nice seeds too but 35 quid dont come easy to me.

Nature tends not to grow them under hps lights etc too!, bog roll method defo has its merits to be fair, i like seeing them popped out before put them in the compost, i cant help looking at empty pots all the time when i go straight into the compost, im pretty sure this disscusion has been done to death though.

As for the OT, i was going to buy some MR Nice seeds but im not going to until this is sorted after reading the last few topics on here.

Im making more of a connection to arnold's "very old pack" and less of one to natures intent tbh.
seeds should sprout 10/10 regardless of whether you use bog roll or straight to compost, no?
All this natures intent talk is detracting from the original topic imo.

when i'm germinating the seeds i've been doing the wet kitchen roll method with half the seeds and with the other half in a glass of water, put them in the cupboard where the boiler is, been getting great results doing it this way

Shanti is awesome and replaced my shit beans that did the same thing. 1 of 17 came out and it was backwards and died. I think some seeds may have been radiated in transit or something because the new seeds he sent (and he was extremely generous) all germed and are doing fine.

hi there.
you think thats bad... i bought 15 Mr Nice "shit" seeds (again not from 420) & NOT ONE germinated... apparently a rogue batch was to blame
shame really, as i can afford to throw my money away..

I prefer the paper towel myself, I find its way better compared to germinating the seeds straight into root riot cubes.I dont like them for seeds , only for clones.

Hi All
got alot of things on the go so it sometimes takes a little time to get round to all the help desks i do...try to understand that. I never avoid my responsibilities when it is legitimate, but there are alot of characters out in the public who try it on at times, so i have a protocol to control things. It takes a short time for me to sort it out at my end but i do. If you spend the money and feel pissed off then you can say what ever you want on any boards, but there is no need to blah blah before you give the company a chance to respond. At least I replace problems and answer questions as much as possible....there are alot of seed companies who do not, so consider that when you buy seeds also! If you cannot talk directly to a seed company and get a response in a fair amount of time then you better think carefully about supporting them.
Wishing you all success in what you do all the best Sb

Thats fair enough its a good feeling when you can speak straight to the head breeder and not some monkey on a p.c help desk
