I'm quite happy with the job my c.f. filter is doing for my growroom but when it comes to the chop my house is full of stink, which I find very agreeable but unfortunately the local constabulary don't have the same taste in olfactory pleasure, so..... am I right in thinking that an Air Ionizer would suit the job of cleaning the air of a room (which permeates the whole house) better than an Ozone Generator? or do they do the same thing but in different ways? I've been googling/reading up on what each machine does particle wise etc. but in the long run I'd rather rely on the combined knowledge and experience of everyone here instead, cheers for getting this far and for any replies yinyang.gif

p.s. I found some instructions for a d.i.y. ozone generator which I'll stick in the proper forum thumbsup.gif

An ozone generator is much more effective than an ioniser.
I use ozone to 'mop up' anything that might evade my filter - I use very low levels and it works a treat.

Ozone is more dangerous than an ioniser and you must be careful not to be pumping too much of it around. It can burn your lungs at high concentrations......and burn your plants.
They also help inhibit mold and can be used to rid yourself of pests in the growroom if you are able to seal it and vent outside.

I saw your other thread on the DIY suggestion prawn and dropped a bit more info in there - I really would suggest a professionally made unit though.

I do like the comfort of my ozone generator and it is especially useful at harvest time.

Good luck smile.gif

Hi Brad,

The unit I use is an AirMaid 3280 Portable.
It has a variable ozone output and also a variable timer.

I use the machine at its lowest output and it is timed to come on for 15 mins every 2 hours.
It sits outside the grow.

With any unit there will be (should be) a chart relating to the room size you want to treat, the concentration of ozone to release and an approximate time.
Some can be a bit fiddley to get right but I highly recommend them to anyone......it certainly helps keep my nerves in order.

Hope that is of help and please fire away if you need to know anything else.
