hi all,

started my first grow from w widow clones around 5 weeks ago and have just switched them to 12/12.
i know the next 10 weeks will be the longest of my life!!

anyway, watching these babys grow has been a pleasure and im now keen to knock up a clone/veg room with the intention of taking a few cuttings from the girls in the next few days and hoping to turn one of these into a mother plant bonzai style for all future clones.

this will serve me three purposes...

#1 saves me a few weeks on my next grow
#2 will be a valuable lesson in cloning/maintaining a mother
#3 satisfaction of watching my babys grow! biggrin.gif

To my cabinet...

these are the first pics of the build of my cabinet.
i manufacture furniture for a living so making the box itself was no probs, cheap too! whistling.gif
it measures 60cm high by 50cm wide by 50cm deep.
the hole for pc fan was routed out at work to perfection! fits snug as fook, no screws.
i have fitted an adjustable shallow glass shelf (shallow for the airflow either side) wink1.gif
also just used an old nokia charger to power the pc fan, piece of piss.

thats about it for now....im waiting for my 125w envirolight to show up at hydro shop this friday and intend to fit a active intake pc fan to oppisite bottom corner of the box.
ill also mylar the roof of box as i aint buying a reflector for it and use draft exluder style foam for an airtight seal around the door.

will add more pics as i continue the build.
any comments or suggestions to my build more than welcome..
Cheers,
Desmo.

got round to finishing the box off yesterday, heres how it went.

first i jig sawed the hole for pc intake, slightly smaller one than the extract pc fan, again wired up with an old nokia charger.

then i added a cheap thermometer to side of box. will upgrade this in time to a digital temp/hum meter.

i decided to buy reflector as it was only an extra £10 on top of the price for a e40 holder.

drilled out a hole in back of box to feed wire through and screwed reflector into top/back of box.

then, in went the enviro light.

jobs a good un.

quick test of light and temps, temp runnin at 27c after hour of being on, happy enough with that.

took 10 cuttings to go straight in tonight.

everything looking good, not bothering with the light leak issue as light will probs be on constantly anyhow.

what you guys reckon, it aint too shabby eh? yinyang.gif

not bad at all, just a tip, the cuttings like a nice diffused light, soft almost. i would put them on the lower shelf, and a piece of a4 paper on top.

looking good mate, very professional ... dont use the foam draught excluded as its not light proof, I used the P section stuff they do and made a 'door stop' from timber battens to mount it with (see link)

must admit yours is a touch better than my own!
i havent actually got round to buying anything for the seal just yet, was wondering weather to bother as i tend to leave light on 24/7 in veg anyhow??

I wouldnt go that far I think they are on par with each other!

The reason I wanted my cabinet light proofing was as it was downstairs and if you look at one of the photo's its looks like I hid the sun in there, the light proofing in my case was to make it stealty ph34r.gif and not to stop light leaks coming inside. I guess as your door sits flush on the front of the cabinet its naturally more light proof anyhow on mine the doors were set inside.

I think the most popular veg light period is 20/4 for rooted cutting/seedlings and 24/0 for unrooted clones, although its pretty much personal choice. I use a small 18" flouro for clones and flick them onto the enviro when they have established themselves.
