hi, this was built it 4 hours, and we were extremely stoned biggrin.gif ill begin with the fan and filter.

we took a computer pwerbox, emptied out all of the boards and wires (not fan wires), leaving the fan in place. i wired the fan to an old drill charger. having had this running for a few days now, id recomend fitting 1 or 2 more fans to the inside of the box as temps are reaching 40C in there. anyway, i sealed all holes, exept on the side opposite the fan. i bought this filter from an aquarium place (who also sell active carbon stones) near where i live. and i simply just stuck the filter strips in place with double sided tape.

something like this;

after we had that put together, we cut the hole in the back of the freezer for it to fit. than we fitted 3 clip-on light fittings to the roof, well, i say fitted, it was only 1 screw each lol.gif then we fitted the fanbox, and sealed any gaps around it with silicone.

hey, after doing a little more reading about, i found that 60 watts of cfl is not enough for what i want. and as the temps were already over 30C, we decided to start again. i think ive been a little cheeky tho, coz ive used desk fans for intake/extration.

so here is my new setup;
6" desk fan
5" desk fan
6 x 20w cfl = 120w

and as my grow space is (w)1ft4" x (d)1ft5" i think this should cover the watts/sqrft?!?!

looking good! what temp you getting now?

just checked and its 28 so still slightly high, but still in the range. my main problem is light leaks, i know i need a baffler of some knid so any info will be great. here;

Fair play for getting to where you are wink1.gif

You'll never light proof the holes with those fans - so you'll either need a dark romm to keep it in or think of something else whistling.gif 3 or 4 120mm PC fans (e.g. 2 out, 1 in) will just about suffice if you want to go that route....

6 x20W Cfls will certainly grow you an oz or 2 with a bit of luck (....and training wink1.gif )

nice smile.gif i like fridge grows
chop a hole in the roof and sit a cooker hood on top. 4" rvk for £20 2nd hand that is, with filter options available from all good hardware stores. duct it to where-ever and no lights getting through. it barely does anyway.

that will give you 3 speeds, of which you just need number1. it will stay with you through a fair few upgrades. £20... what do you want smile.gif

edit: look for old neff ones. new ones are badly made, and only 70% as good as a true rvk. you will be limited to the filters from superstores aswell, which is better than many home made ones, but not in the shop bought league. dont see this as an rvk replacement, it just fills the gap between show fans and real inline duct fans (rvk part numbers). to you, a beast for pennys!

i was just gonna cover the inside of the grill on the fan for the filter with cooker ood filter. i need this to be stealth so hood on top? isnt an option im afraid

so far so good mate guitar.gif keep it up and btw how did you wire your lights? i'm pulling up a chair on this one:ninja: to compare stealth techniques! and efficiency, good luck and swing by my diary soon your more than welcome.

i just use an 8 way extention for the lights. i buy the fittings and wire from wilkinsons and just wire it up myself so it works out really cheap, less than 60 quid fans and all. ive just fitted a light baffle too, it works great. everything is together now so im just watching the grass grow now. heres a pic of the three ladies (fingers crossed) i have in there.

the 2 on the left are afghan#1 and the 1 on the right is an ethiopian sunshine.

hey i added a new selection to my micro grow. a PC case veg room.

empty PC case, all wires exept the fan in the power box, im using this for extraction. i boarded the ends up so the light doesnt escape, still not 100%, but almost. then i fitted 2 20w cfl's on the opposing gide to the fanm so that the hot air is pulled out before reaching the plants. and then i put mylar in.

Nice. thumbsup.gif

....how do you get into the PC box though with out moving it out every time .... or does it have a slip off case type thing?

stealth-tastic though, fair play.
CANTTHINKOFAUSERNAME
i just pull it out along the floor and take the side off. and yeah its totally for stealth, if not i may have done a bigger grow.
