Hi

My drobe is getting quite hot at lights on, its got a 5in rvk extracting and some passive intakes and a 400w hps.

Ive been meaning to add a 4in rvk for intake for a while.

By adding this will it lower the temps by forcing cooler air in ??

It should do, I would have thought - actives are always better than passives.

¿How/where are you measuring your temps from, though?

e²a: And more CO2 for your plants is never a bad thing, as well. wink1.gif

i have a wall mounted thermometor, in the shade, its measures about low 30's.

the more plants i have in there the cooler it seems for some strange reason.

It's not that weird a phenomenon - I'd wager that the watery, fleshy plant material is absorbing the heat, and the more plants you have in there, the more heat is being absorbed. wink1.gif

better still get your fresh air from outside the house that will also help with temps

HaHa, your reply 1976 I just read in to myself in the voice of the old scientist from futurama without even realising

your plants will grow sooooooo much better when you get the temps down. that really is to hot for them to do a great deal.

in adition to what scribble said, plant transpiration (sweating) uses heat. more plants=more sweating=more heat used up in the evaporation process. this is how evaporative coolers work.
