Has anybody tried using uvb bulbs, i heard it encourages the plants to produce more trichomes

I have, it may or may not induce a plant to produce more trichromes, it may also encourage the them to form more THC but that's not proven yet and also maybe strain dependent. Could also be dependent on whether the plant is an Indica or Sativa but again that's pure conjecture.

What lamp did you order ?

There's some really good info on different types of UV lamp available over at uvguide.co.uk, it's a little old but still mostly relevant.

¿Works fine here - why what does it do your end?

To replicate it, go to http://www.google.com , go to the 'Advanced Search' bit, and then limit your search to the domain www.uk420.com and then search for uvb.

Or, if you're using Firefox, download the UK420 Search Plugin I wrote for it, and then use it to search for uvb.

I have ordered a spot uv bulb form my local leccy shop, not sure what the exact spec yet, I'll update when it arrives

Thinking of growing white widow for my next grow and using some uv bulbs.

Hi Dirk,

Just so you're not wasting your time you need to make sure your new lamp is producing at least 200uwatts/cm2 anything under that is just not going to cut the mustard IMHO. If the lamp is intended for reptiles then it may well be ok, you can look up most makes of UV lamp that are suitable on uvguide.co.uk.

I've got a diary going here if your interested to have a butchers.
