Hi All,
Im going to germinate seeds using the wet paper towel method. then when they sprouted i was going to put them in 1" rockwool cubes, then 3" cubes, and then into my wilma system with which i will be using clay pebbles. my problem is i cant get my hands on any rockwool cubes or anything similar. it will take maybe a week to get them. Does any1 know if theres any other method that works well or are my better off to just wait to get the rockwool cubes.?? any help appreciated

i've seen someone use loft insulation as a medium. it may be of use until the cubes arrive.can't you get coco or peat pellets from a garden centre?
if all else fails use soil, then transplant into the wilma when the roots are established.
soil to hydro would be my choice through lack of others

You could just germ them in the 1" cubes if you had any... soak the cubes overnight in Ph'd water, give them a squeeze before popping the seeds in the holes and putting them on a windowsill, or in a propagator, in a room that gets a lot of daylight, or under a 125 wt enviro - I've had good success that way (99% germination) - only soak the bottoms of the 3" rockwools though, with about a 10% nute solution. Don't know why you can't get them for over a week (unless you're financially stiffed) - have you tried the "Shop" button in the top right corner of your browser here @ UK420? Hope you get it going soon mate - good luck.
