i've tried the canna grow guide for n.f.t, but have just noticed on the shops website they have sold me substra instead of aqua. does it matter or am i gonna get less yeild they look quite happy the wappa's three weeks into flower.

The Substra range is for drip feed/run to waste systems and the Aqua range is for recirculating systems (like your NFT).
The Substra will work but the Aqua should do better.

I've read a few posts suggesting that Substra is better if you live in a hard water area, as it comes in hard/soft water varieties, whereas the Aqua does not..

Canna Aqua is a bit wierd in that you're supposed to make it at a low pH and let it rise up to pH 6.2.
For hard water areas the starting pH is 5.2 and in soft water areas it's 5.8. The website goes into the details
