Hi all

I've been looking around at the various seed companys and am a little confused as to why some seed companys are charging so much more than others for the same strain

ie. 10 seeds of white widow: the prices differ from £15 to £100

Is it something to do with F1 and F2 types?

Excuse me if i'm sounding like a complete rookie!

I can understand that some seed companys are going to be a little more expansive than others but not by that amount?

10 white widow for £15 you'll get some seeds. Dunno about white widow but for some strains £15 will get you seeds that will grow out to what they should be.
10 white widow for £100, you've been robbed by some twat looking to make money off the seed market.

Don't pay the big money.

stick with the main brands and you cant go far wrong ,mrnice,serious seeds,etc etc ..im not keen on greenhouse or nirvana but saying that i grew sum good nirvana stuff over the last years and there good for new growers ,as there cheaper....if your stuck for a new to growing strain ,get skunk1 or shit .....they can take hard knocks ,hardy and stable as hell...

Sometimes indeviduals own a sertain strain so thay can charge what thay like, other times its just crazy mark up in shops.
Sometimes it's just diferant versions of the same strain that are seen as better or worse and priced acordingly. This is just off the top of my head though.
I tend not to spend more than about 40 quid though I'v paid like 8 quid before and had no prob with the seeds. Thay were WW from Nirvana,
which were fine for me but I know others have had real probs with them. I've seen 1 site that was selling WW for £150 for 10,
that's just tacking the piss.

I went onto the Pukka seeds site out of interest, and after about 5 minutes i had to exit out of it because it felt like i was being raped just by being on the site, it was scary

£300 seeds? Sure, as long as im the one selling them!

theres a site sumwhere i see the other month was selling weird named strains and the price tag was like over 300 dollars ,it was the widow from nirvana i had most luck with,also i got one nice ak48 from them but thats it ,i liked somas smoke from amnesia seeds i got from dam but shame the female ratio from piss poor and it didnt want to clone..

The difference in price is mainly down to the fact that the cheaper seeds are normally just F2's of the more expensive ones. And generally alot less work has gone into producing the knock off's (F2's).

The original AK47, for example had been worked for a long time prior to being released by Simon of Serious seeds. Wheras Nirvana seedbank prolly just got a good Mother from Simon's Serious AK47 seeeds and Prolly a good dad from his AK47 as well (although I have read that Nirvana's AK48 has some extra skunk added to the mix, dunno how true that is though), and then hey presto Nirvana also has a version of AK47 or as they like to call it Ak48 for a 1/8 (or less!) of the work Simon put into it.

Disclaimer: I am not knockin' Nirvana's AK btw, as I haven't tried it and it gets pretty good feedback, nor am I knockin' the knockin' off pratice in general.

Its was pukka seeds and doggie nuts that i was refering to. Day Light robbery. Altho it would be nice to have some F1 seeds, but then theres no garrantee that they are F1's A?

Do a search, dont use fukka seeds. The link to a good seedbank is in the top right of this page.
Click seeds, look at Ace, Afropips, Sensi and so on. All the reliable ones are there.
And if you are on a budget there are decent seeds available too.
