After all my outdoor plants got eaten by deer and greenhouse plants turned out to be males, i started some lowryder#2 and after a slow start they are doing ok, i ended up with 1x male 5 females, so not too bad.

Good healthy girls m8, how old are they around 6 weeks?, keep your eye on the air flow/ humidity, particularly in the later stages of bud, mold seems to be an issue with all the ryder family specially with outdoor/greenhouse grows in the latter half of summer, great lookin plants though m8, goodluck thumbsup.gif

ps, what size pots have you got them in ?

I started them on the 15th of july (so about 35 days old), They are planted in 5 litre pots with 4 parts compost to one perlite, and a 2" layer of horticultural grit in the the bottom to aid drainage.
They started very slowly curled leaves thin stems, didn't think they would get going at all! but they got the sun on them and shot up.
What sort of yield can i expect to get per plant, i would say each plant is around about 20" tall.

I'm a big L/R#2 fan also. I think this strain gets a lot of unfair critisism. I cannot grow in the house due to family/space etc, so have no option but to grow outside/greenhouse.
OK, you can grow one of the "early" strains, but that limits you to one grow a season, anything else and you are risking a November harvest, and the bad weather that comes with it, where as with the L/Rs you can do 3 or more grows (I also believe hat there are some new "low" strains coming out from Joint-doctor)
Granted, if I had lights/growroom, I wouldn't bother with them, but what else would you suggest for someone in my position.

PS
The low yield aint that bad. I've had over an ounce from L/R#2s on previous grows (that's about £120 worth round these parts !)

Have you noticed any variation in lr#2's, as 1 of my girls looks different to the rest, it has thinner leaves and the shape is different to the rest.

Yes mate, they are a bit diff from my previous grow, I put that down to mine being a bit more stretched due to the poor weather, but having said that, the upper leaves do seem more thinner, almost sativa like.

Quote from jointdoctor;

"F1 hybrid

In my opinion Lowryder #2 is wrongly referred to as a F1 hybrid. The number 2 is a Lowryder - Santa Maria cross. Where the auto flowing trait is given on to the new strain through several times breeding back to the original Lowryder. The outcome can never be a F1 hybrid, because a F1 hybrid is a F1 mix of two different true breeding strains. As a result of this, the Lowryder #2 is not completely stable, as would be expected from a F1 hybrid. Although, al plants have the auto flowering trait, there is a diversity in appearance, from more indica like to more sativa like. But what needs to be said is that the Lowryder #2 is giving a much bigger yield than the original Lowryder and the diversity in the strain can in time easy be taken out by careful selection in the breeding process.

Success, Eric van Kampen"

4 of the plants are same, but the one in the first pic at the back of shot is very different i will post a clearer pic, its leaves are very thin, its shorter than the others, and the leaves are also darker coloured, i wonder if the smoke will be different, saying that i might set that one for seed, i have been collecting pollen from my male plant, so i will see what the next generation turn out like. smile.gif

Just put my 1 accidental grow into the PVC greenhouse today - overfed it a bit, but hopefully it will pick up. Just a shame about the shitty forecast (rain all week) sad.gif
