Hi, just looking for some advice on keeping my envirolite safely hung.

I'm trying another small grow just using the cabinet shown hopefully (H 3ft, W 2ft 8" D 16").

Previously I've used a 125 wt enviro but I've just put a 200wt blue enviro in and as shown it is drooping a bit. I've screwed the holding cup (normal ceramic e40? i think) as tight as possible to the side of the cupboard and the light is firmly held, but I'm not too happy with it (might damage the plants, might damage the light itself and might burn down the house). Just wondering if anyone has faced the same problem and any suggestions for safely supportingClick to view attachment the light? Thanks

I've had the same problem, down to using a flimsy reflector... try using a reflector where the alloy is a little more rigid might help

Thanks, I'll try that, I've got a few ties around somewhere. I'm presuming they don't melt, or cut through the the glass?

Maybe should put this question in another forum, but here goes.

The plants were grown from seed (sativa seedbank) coming up to 4 weeks ago now, I put them straight into the 4 inch pots shown with cheap compost. They are doing ok, couple stretched a little, a few pale green/yellowish leaves lower down so gave them some epsom salts, and roots are showing through the bottom of the pots. Just wondering should I repot into medium size pots, 8 inch, with John Innes no 2 then onto large pots with JI no 3, or straight into large pots ,13 inch? Any ideas, advice appreciated, thanks.

hi leafier - yep i think you'd get alot more help if you posted on general growing questions or something like that... unfortunately i'm no real help as i'm pretty new to this myself. from what i have read tho, i think it's better to gradually increase the size of your pot and the type of soil you use as the plant matures... putting a plant into too big a container too soon will cause stunted root development and make your plants slower growing. (i think so anyway don't take my word for it tho!)

hope that helped

stagger your pot sizes and have a look in the soil section (whre this should have been posted) for compost makes that work well with canna (Westlands MP with added john innes does it for me) no use paying for seeds, light etc and potting up with cheap compost. Bit early for epsom salts, or at least if you are potting on with fresh compost its early. You can also combat that stretch a bit when you repot by setting the root ball deeper and soiling up around the stem, new roots will grow out of the submerged stem don't bury any leaf nodes though.
