Full Version: 1 Wk Old Seedlings Yellowing And Curling Down!

I've searched the forums and concluded that I've either over watered, under watered or not repotted in time. This plant is 9 days old with 7 days under 24 hours fluorescent lighting (2 * 18 watt lights 1 inch away) and 2 days under 20/4. It was fine until the two days ago when it began to wilt. The compost in the pots is shrinking therefore I presumed I was underwatering if anything. My germinating robe is at about 60% humidity with a temp at an average of 26C/27C.

I'm considering transferring the plants (4 of, 2 sick and 2 OK for now) to slightly bigger pots tonight and having a look at the roots. What do you growing Jedi's think of this pic?????

DONT TOUCH THE ROOTS!!! it looks underwatered m8. water it every other day and leave um be. thay'r too young for repoting, it'll stress them out
and could do um in, just keep an eye and dont worry, have fun smile.gif

I think it's down to the miracle grow compost, too strong for baby cannabis. Get some standard seedling compost tomorrow if poss and repot (into small pots, you wont need to pot on for a while) trying to get as much old compost off as poss without breaking roots.

Wait for other opinions though.

What are your temps like?

Didnt know he was using that and your prob. right Doc but I think its way too small for repoting. Its only gonna have a few vain roots off its tap and it would be the easiest thing
in the world to ripp um off.

Yeah that's what I meant by small pots, put them back into the same pots. If you were to keep the soil around the root intact and get rid of the rest you'll be fine but if you're not comfortable handling the roots then leave it.

That's one of the lankiest seedlings I've ever seen, should be less than a 1/3 that height. Either your light is too far away or not powerful enough, compact florescents cshould be with a couple of inches of the plant. As they say a picture's worth a thousand words

Miracle grow composts isn't particularly good for canna either. Something for seedlings would be ideal. The compost wants to be just moist not damp.

What size pots are they in?

From the picture I'd say lokimerl has them in a seed tray.

I just had the same exact prob with a whiteberry grow and it was due to the miracle grow compost, I repoted into a seedling medium. It has been 5 days now and they are recovering great. For some reason everywhere I go all i can get is miracle grow products like they have control over the market in my area. Good luck with the grow =))).

it looks like underwatering by the look of the soil mate. and as the others sais dont repot when there to young
Bish
It's got bugger all to do with under watering.
