I have recently been Smoking a VERY potent Weed called 'Blues' from Sheffield and it seems abundant in the 'ghetto' like areas up there, I would love to grow this Strain as it is bloody knock out and tastes divine its kinda like cheese but with a very strong sweet fruity almost tangy after taste. I've had Blue Cheese from Amsterdam before but this was much much stronger! Any Ideas....??

There ARE different types of blueberry in sheffield. But majority of the stuff I've got from there is mainly just blueberry. Probably a v. good mother plant and cuttings being passed on from growers.

Oh right, thats is the SHEEEEIIT mate. When i say 'ghetto' like i mean Tinsley, thats were my cousin lives and its a effin Sh*thole, crime rate is so high, but i can only speak of my experiences there, other areas look nice especially the regenerated city centre. but whoever growin that stuff, i take my hat off to!

I'd tend to agree with Owderb, simply because, the way I understand it, BB is not the sort of strain you'd want to grow commercially.

However, it may well be one of the excellent BB crosses, for example like the stuff currently being produced by S.O.L.'s "Breeder Steve" who is actually working with DJ Shorts (the creator of original Blueberry).

The way the OP describes it it sound quite similar to my own BlueSatellitexKush clone, which fits the bill. So that's the direction I'd start looking in... Blue Satellite, Sweet Tooth, etc...
I suppose BBxWidow might be another guess, but it doesn't sound too Widowy.

I know the BlueZ you refer too. I smoke lots of it. Its what I would call Peng. There a constant supply from Sheffield to South Manchester, Hudderfield, Leeds etc. Its got a good rep in the hood, and ive never been disapointed with the happy, uppy, social effect it provides.
God, I even know a friend whom last summer bought an Oz off me and subsequently ended up quitting work and getting high every day for a month.

Sheffield Bluez is the shit. Nuff respect to the guys who have built its reputation over the past few yearz and more importantly managed to keep the Line going. Niche Crew!

Joolz, OWD, I believe and have done for a couple of yearz that the strian this thread refers too is DP Blueberry. Trust me, i have this on good advise. Plus ive been smoking the stuff for yearz now. Get half a bar perhaps twice a year around Ramadan times.

Ive been to Nights out with the same Sheffield crew that supply the stuff, I'm happy to say its DP Bluez. Its costly mind you, dont expect to be paying £130 @ Oz, buts its so well known around the North. Its a big Line those lads have got. Niche Crew!

Ill Stand corrected if true. We are talking bout the same Bluez? I dont care what it is, it'd be nice to put a strain to the name so often used 'Bluez'. The effect is pretty close to the Blueberry ive smoked in Holland too. I guess peeps will tell you anything when their high on drugs!

Thanks VRG - If your word is absolute i will take it as a skunk pheneo. All I know is I love smoking Sheffield Bluez and the high it gives. It puts most dealer weed to shame. hey all, bluez is the cheese thats all it has been round sheff for time. There are many stories ie sk #1 x jack hereer, when grown it stinks to fuck, people started calling it bluez cos way back around 4-5 or even 6 years ago there was a damn nice (DP) bb budha getting sold around sheff. then after that any nice bud got called blues this 1 impeticular( even tho they were nothing like each oth) the cuttings over the years have done the rounds so a fair amount of peeps have got it, there has always been confusion oveer the strain including myself, it only came to attention quite recently that it was the infamous cheese as i picked up some budha from a well established nd knowledgale person on these matters who said it was cheese i was always told that the cutings were sk#1 i put 2 and 2 together, i may be wrong and 1 can never be shore aqnyways hope it helps good luck to all peace greenhead

No its not. I have grown both the exodus cheese, and the two main variants of 'bluez'.

The one I grow is more sativa in structure and grows big fat calyx just like the exodus cheese, that and the distinct aroma are where the similarities end. The sativa bluez (aka killer skunk) is stronger smelling, sweeter tasting and heavier yielding. It does need a lot of light to show its potential. Grown exclusively under halides it will be wet to the touch!

The indica bluez is short and very squat. It will rarely double its height in flower and grows rock hard solid nogs of stinky, goey goodness. Even fruitier on the nose than the sat var, but not quite so potent. This is a big yielder and ideal for sog.

All three strains will get you thrown out of a club, or arrested if stopped in your car. Not for the security conscious or paranoid stoner.

I get offered 'bluez' all the time in Sheffield and it has a pretty fruity aroma, but defo aint blueberry. Is a nice strong smoke tho.

Have met the guy who apparently made Livers, and true, its name has nowt to do with liver smell. Bit of a secret why its called that, not to be revealed on here tho!

I've had the Blues in my Grow for years now. Its not something I would want to go without - distinctive, easy to grow and a beautiful, mind enlarging smoke. I can well understand why Ugorg would produce Kiler Skunk in their attempt to get back to the Blues. Some KS Pheno's are so close to the Blues in every way that I find it impossible to tell them apart, almost.
Blues - certainly worthy of its status amongst the ranks of the great ones.

Livers is what we call Cheese around here mate................

I've grown countless "Skunk No.1" plants, and they smell/taste very different from Blues; so I don't think its a Skunk variant, although one can never be sure.


I have grown both side by side RAZ, and they are/were very different. I tend to tire of the Cheese after a while, due to tolerance build-up. But I never do with the Blues. I have had a Cheese mother several times, but never kept her for long - but I'd never get rid of the Blues

Never tried Blues but KS is awesome u will be happy with nice fat and smelly crystal killer colas! Better than any dutch seeds that i have grown in past 4 years and there was full bag off

Cants say about blues but i think i've got 2 mothers that are very close to blues from my KS seeds i just grew and there bloody lovely as is the other pheno which i quess is the KS pheno

Just wanted to add to what Herbal Kint said about it being better than any dutch strains hes grown, in that last grow i had Shiva Shanti, MK Ultra, Akorn Aka Snowbud, Citral and of course Killer Sunk and the Killers kicked ass to be fair to them and i dont just mean the smoke, taste and high but also how easy they were to grow, i swear they are the best plants to grow if you want something nice and easy that wont fling problems at you

this was only sweepings some one gave my m8, and its some of the nicest smoke ive had been smokin it for around a week now and as someone said before i dont seem to have built up much of a tollarance to it. My m8 who was lucky enough to be given it hates the way weed makes you feel and whenever he has a puff of mine he spends the next few hours bitching about how shit he feels but with this stuff he's loved it been gigglein with him all weekend like big kids must get a cutting if not KS is a deffo

i am very close to sheffield and blues ain't dp blueberry, it could be anything, these days if it smells fruity it gets called blues. i have 2 the blues clones outdoors. i also used to grow it indoors for a long period. sk1 pheno.

I think you are right Chan, lot of folk don't have the actual Blues but any old cuttings called blues to make a buck. But there does seem to be a certain plant out there doing the rounds that is Blues and is very very good shit.

right,ive got some killerskunk seeds on da way gonna see wat this is like,in theory its 3/4 "bluez" and 1/4 blueberry so should give me an idea on wat it is like

Killer Skunk does indeed have phenos very close to the Blues. You should find one easy enough. If you've got both, you can tell the difference, but its ever so slight. The KS pheno I am enjoying at the moment is very Blues-like; the difference is truly miniscule.
