have noticed with interest 'fluorescent ' tube style led growlights have appeared just recently-check out the old fleabay-in the hydro section
any of you boys and girls tried these ?

LEDs... Ive just made made my own LED SET UP.a couple of weeks ago i was in pound land and bought a pack of 6 ciggi lighters with LED torch blue very bright £1.00.anyway i put some seeds in a propergator put three lighters on top, got up in the morning all the seeds have sprouted ,a fluke or not i don't know until i get some more seeds,i went and got 3 more packs and made a lighting system from a plastic 4ft fish tank lid by gluing them on,to keep the lights on push the button rite in and push it to the side and they stay on i will post some pics soon...TGP.

8 watts of white LEDs will grow you diddly squat I'm afraid.

I haven't been keeping up with the LED threads, but I would hazard a guess you could grow a lot more cannabis with a 20 watt CFL - £1 from the supermarket.

They are blue LEDs and my plants are growing tidy, like i said could be a fluke.

Sorry - I meant the linears - at £70 each !

I suspect those are prototype replacements for domestic linear fluorescents.
(for extremely rich people)

If you check out the LED threads you'll find that you actually want mostly red ones.
