Full Version: A Question About Seed Brands.

Hello UK420,

I'm almost ready for my next grow and trying to decide on a strain.

In the past I've just bought 'normal seeds' shipped from Holland, and have been happy. But say for example I see someone on here was advising someone else what seeds to get, they say "skunk, from 'X brand'."

Does it matter who's seeds they are?, I thought they were basically just strains?

e2a: Feel free to move this one if there's a toppic for it, I couldn't find one.

Hi DB,

and welcome to UK420 mate.

Yes it can matter for a couple of reasons. For starters there are seedbanks like Nirvana who are very cheap and as far as I know don't produce other peeps strains under licence which must mean they are offering F2's of certain strains that are hybrid and not true breeding which means their offspring are not fully like the plants produced by the original breeders.

Also there is more than one Bubblegum strain,3 I think, which are from reputable breeders but they've tinkered with the Bubblegum so you may prefer one over another. They are all good but its down to personal preference so don't be totally swayed by personal recommendations but do take them into overall account.

It's tha same with Skunk #1 but most peeps use Sensi Seedbanks version as it's cheap and many report it's good, grown it myself and I give it a thumbs up but as I say,the proof of the puddin' is in the eating. wink.gif

it's all about each breeders genetics and stability of strain/s,

as the doc points out, nirvana's seeds tend to be cheaper cos most of them are f2's and not superior f1's, where as a seedbank like sensi or ace, produce thier own genetic lines and have more superior plants,

it's horses for courses mate and down to how much you are willing to spend (within reason) on top of what you want to get from a plant.
