400w MH in cooltube, connected to 125L ruck fan.
The white pit in the veg room is a home made tank, i shall be connecting a dripper system to it for clones, seedlings, vegging plants and mothers. Bob -------------------- |

Looks really interesting how you have done it! Is there anyway you could draw a plan outline of how it is all set up? Thinking of the same set up! (-_-) |

That looks great bob! If you're gonna do a job - do it properly
One question though - how are you going to light proof the vent from flower chamber to veg box? don't those fans let light through? B -------------------- |

B Thanks everybody for your kind words Smart Q blab matey, that is the only issue at the moment. The fans don't let much light through, so i'm going to attatch an insulated peice of ducting to it in an 'S' bend which will stop the remaining light. Nice
it'll be good for the ducting to go down to floor level so the air rises past the whole plant not just the top 2/3's above the vent -------------------- |

QUOTE I put up some net curtains, and locked the window into a semi open position before boarding it up. Don't want anyone to notice!!! I would have gotten a scarface mural on the wall to slipstream the door, that would be the coolest |

Hello guys, hope you all are well
As it's getting to spring and im awakening from my winter hibernation, i think i'm going to do some work on them and upgrade! So far the growroom has been working well, and i have tweaked it and added a few items to make it better, which include: Adding a 400w light to the flower room with the 600w digital. Adding a 250mm Phat Filter (It's massive!) Swapped the fan going between growrooms round, so now there are 2x 125mm intakes going into the flower room. Added a water heater into the flowering tank. The summary of work is going to be this: Extending the partition wall to accommodate another gt-100 Subsequent refurbishment of room, with new sheeting, plasterboard walls and a better window intake Swapping lights in grow room from the cheap 600w digital poot and standard 400w to 2 new 600w digitals with parabolic reflectors This will require new equipment: gt-100 maxijet 1000l pump 100w water heater 20l/min airpump with airstones 2 x 600w digital ballasts 2 x parabolic reflectors going to put some pics and other stuff on when done some research. Peace -------------------- |

Looking good.
'I'm sick of pissing about, let's do it right' is a pretty useful emotion sure enough. All that matters is being self sufficient in such a way that you can afford it and don't mind the hassle of tending the plants. This will be topped up via a stopcock system connected to a water butt, holding 1/3rd strength nutrients, allowing res changes to be as far apart as possible! Is only changing the res in between grows acceptable? Once or twice a week measure the ec and then addback enough micro and bloom to bring it back to full strength. Easy enough to write out a cheatsheet as ec is linear. (eg. ec = 94% of full strength means adding 6% of initial micro/bloom.) Do not let neat micro or bloom touch any roots when doing the addback, it can kill them. If the stopcock is a household jobbie I'm not sure if it's ok with nuted ro, I know that pure ro is a no-no, it'll eat away at the brass. Will probably be good for at least one grow if you need to wing it but a proper ro float valve would be best. -------------------- My first attempt at doing a grow as if I were a newbie with as little skill as possible involved. Like all 'first grows', it didn't go completely to plan.

Also the light spread is terrible with the 600w digital poot light, and i also stupidly drilled holes through the reflector to increase cooling, further ruining the effiency of it would like to be able to convert it but its a lot of messing around due to the rf issue with the cables heres a couple of recent pics of the light, tank with 30 new clones and a closeup: This post has been edited by SirBob: Mar 13 2009, 12:28 AM -------------------- |
