Hi all,

Just out of interest what reflector would be best for a dr80 - 80x80x160 to cover the entire floor space?

I thought parabolic but will that leave enough room between canopy and bulb? bear in mind have 6'' cf at the top

Hey Gumball, bear in mind that a para slopes off at the edges so if you place your CF to one side they can overlap and share some space. Will get you some valuable inches.

Lobo dug this up http://www.uk420.com...howtopic=293833

I reckon the medium para will fit but obviously be very snug, i would go for a medium para.

Yeah i guess..although what about air space between the sides. would be very very snug indeed ! Would make my canopy extremely hot surely with less space for the air to rise

The para is octagonal in shape so you will have 4 nice big gaps in the corners for rising air plus some ventilation actually around the bulb on the para, also quite a bit of heat come from the bulb holder and this is actually mounted above the reflector. Especially with your 6" ruck pulling heat away, i really dont think it will be an issue.

there is a thread somewhere in the hydrolab forum where someone asked about 80cm paras in 80cm tents and hydrolabs response was not a prob and go for it if i remember right.

I run 400w of parabolockness in a dr80 with 5"out/4"in turned down to half,it looks daft but the heat radiates up and away from the canopy. It keeps things a couple of C cooler than the diamond reflector I used before this.
I do wonder if a bare bulb would be just as good though
