Hi Folks

I don't think I have seen these mentioned here so this is just a heads up for anyone interested.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a 400w setup next grow with the new DarkRoom 80cm x 80cm tent. Now I really wanted a parabolic reflector because they, as you all know, are the spaniels clangers but the normal 80cm parabolic is a tad tight in an 80cm tent. I'm a bit worried about airflow around the reflector.

So I found this:

SunKing Emperor vertical reflector

Offering a more concentrated spread of light than the Sun King Parabolic Parabolic, the Emperor concentrates the light footprint on a smaller area due to the steeper angles of the reflector. The benefits of vertical reflectors are that you can position them closer to your crops creating an even canopy of light coverage without hot spots. Emperor vertical reflectors are supplied with vented top plates to disperse heat build up. High gloss white symmetrical Reflector.

Dimensions
H 35cm
D 66cm
L 66cm

Assembly Options
Vertical Emperor reflectors can be supplied part assembled or unassembled.
For use with
UP TO 1000W HID BULBS

This looks just the job for smaller tents although the light spread may not be as good as the standard parabolic it will still have most of the benefits. They cost a bit more at around £60.

Has anyone seen one in use or care to comment on the effectiveness? would it be much better than the standard Emperor horizontal reflector:

I'm planning an upgrade to the bloom room and one of these would fit whereas a round parabolic would be slightly too large, so thanks for posting this. I guess the advantage of a vertical bulb is that the light will bounce off the sides of the reflector and so get around the kolas better than a horizontal bulb which will just send light straight down onto the tops.
