Yo V,

More upgrades dude, good man! Glad you got one of these as I'm looking at 1000w options at the moment!

Double ended bulbs, saggy bulb syndrome, I thought you had uploaded the wrong vid for a mo lol

Couple of Q's if ya don't mind fella!

How much did you pay? And how much are the replacement bulbs?

What do you think on the reflector? Be interesting to see a couple of lumen test, you got a light meter ain't ya bro

Hope they are as good as they look. Look forward to seeing this baby in action

I got a good deal from a mate lol,the bulbs are near on £ 100 but they last way longer than a single end lamp which cost around 60-70 for a kw lamp, the reflector is made from the same stuff as the grostars also comes off and is replaced once a year for optimium results. The reflector is small so the light comes out the reflector and straight onto the plants but the light that the lamps produce is PAR which is the light that plants want so you get upto 8% more usable light. A meter be no good as they dont emit lummens more par or if you wanna get techie they produce Emole's.

I recently purchased a gavita digistar 600 dimmable ballast and I have to say as a company they seem way more professional than any other company and the build quality seems top draw, can wait to see your results on this one, I got a 1000 aircooled in a dr150 but been looking for a upgrade. Also very nice to see someone who ain't afraid to put a little back into their setup and love seeing new product being tested a man of my own heart!

I have been looking a 1kw lights recently, just thoughts for the future realy. Be interesting to see the results, but 500 is abit crazy for a light. Lets see what it can do!

This your first time with a 1kw, or is that what you had before?

Well it's fully dimmable and in the video the guy hold the whole unit in 1 hand no probs if you lift my 1000 ballast in 1 hand you need a arm like Hellboy!! Also it digital like I said I got the 600 and it's so cool you wouldn't know it's running if you had clip on fan facing it.

Keep us posted :yep:

I can't decide on the 600w or to keep saving & go for the 1000w.

Can you take the ballast off & mount it elsewhere ? Have you sussed anywhere to get the spares from ?
