Dear People!!

I use plant magic products, I am currently using bloom boost. If anybody has seen the grow chart?? On week 5, 1.8EC for the Hydro Bloom. So I mix a strength of 1.8EC then add the 2/ml of bloom boost it states.

After I check the EC of it, it goes up to 2.2EC after the bloom boost is added. Is this correct?

Mate, add the boost first, then make up to your desired ec. You will need slightly less bloom nutes at this stage because as you've found out the boost raises the ec, hence adding the boost first :guitar:

All P/K boosters are supposed to alter the NPK ratio not the EC..

I'm using the PM coco range.

In week 4 I set EC to 1.6 using Coco Bloom, then I add 1.5ml per litre of Bloom boost and it's at EC 1.8 :guitar:

I think thats right as it adds up re: feed chart. Although it does say 2ml in week 6 with the EC still at 1.8 :g:

Well i've worked out that getting to 1.6 takes about 3ml of each 2 part, and 1.5 of boost will get it too 1.8.

I'll just work it out like you said and use that ratio. I need to work out ratio's so i can gradully set my tank after topping off with water. At the moment its easy as i can just add 1 part of boost to 2 parts of each bloom formula.

Might just stick with that anyway as its easy or just adjust the tank ghetto style.

Thanks guys for that. I started week 5 on Wednesday, everything looks ok? Should I wait until next Wednesday and then Mix it to bang in what it says like how I have learnt. Or adjust it, by mixing new nutes? Or Watering it down. The EC is currently at 2.2 when it should be at 1.8??

if it was me I would just dilute the nutes you already have until its down where you want it, but if you want to be more precise then mix up more.

Its up to you to read the plants and decide if an ec of 2.2 is too high. Me personally I like to feed my plants just enough and no more, I've very rarely fed over an ec of 2.0

Tbh, the thing I like about plant magic, is its easy to use apart from them not making it clear to mix up to required EC rather than add it ontop, then again I should have known as addatives don't effect EC only Nutes do. Secondly, its a simple range I feel the simpler it is the safer it Is, not point fixing something that is not broken. The smell's left on your clothes after doing scheduled maintence are NUTS!!!! I feel tho, they need to just add a ripener such as Over Drive.

And sorry no, I use Hydro A & B, i think older timers is soil as a matter of fact I dont even think old timers is for water!! DWC all the way! lol

I use it and it does effect EC lol, i can't believe someones led you to think it wont!!

:yep:
thats my experience as well , to get the required ec and to add the Bloom Boost at the recommended rate I have to reduce my A&B by approximately 20 %. If I put the same amount of A&B in as I normally do then my ec is way to high.

I agree with you there Bigboy , I'm on my third run with PM stuff and even my first crop where I was still getting the feel for the nutes and how they behaved was an improvement on my previous grows. They do seem to work rather well :)

“There is no reason to accept the doctrines crafted to sustain power and privilege, or to believe that we are constrained by mysterious and unknown social laws. These are simply decisions made within institutions that are subject to human will and that must face the test of legitimacy. And if they do not meet the test, they can be replaced by other institutions that are more free and more just, as has happened often in the past.”
