I can relate to the leaks Mikey, it took me a year of experimenting to find bags that did not leak on me. Best thing I ever bought was a thing called a stealth belt, the bag sits horizontal instead of vertical and gives you much more freedom of movement and the bag is a hell of a lot more secure, cost about £100 and you have to get it shipped in from the states but it was well worth it.

God you must over the moon to hear your getting rid of the bag! Good for you. For what reason did you get it in the first place if you don't mind me asking?

Just wanted to say, how nice it is to read folk sending good vibes and messages. I've had a bag since 2009, through bowel cancer and they're not nice. But, it did save my life. I hope you're feeling better soon guys. Big respect to your mate, there are good people out there...

Morning buddie, yep , know exactly where you are coming from...I got told in January it had spread to my lungs :( Had op on left lung...that was an experience...but made me realise how precious life really is.
a
I'm impressed with you guys attitude...I found it difficult and sometimes still do to make myself do things I used to do. I too have the stealth belt, not a bad bit of kit but mine came off when I went swimming in the sea :(

Bags coming off...baine of my life now, tried lots of various ones, none of which sem to really work, so I've designed my own, my stoma nurses are sorting out meetings with various bag manufacturers...this bag doesn't pancake, which is my biggest problem.

Cannabis certainly helped me through all the chemo, radio and all the ops. I no longer smoke it, digest and vape :)

I hope you are feeling better buddie, keep safe, peace

Aye man, I found it a right cunt to get a bag that fitted me. I was suffering real bad leaks always from the same area, my stoma nurse is absolutely useless so I took it upon myself to get loads of sample bags and work through them. I've ended up with a 2 piece bag and mouldable washers for round the stoma before the bag/flange goes on. I tend to get 2-3 days before leakage occurs, not too long but the best result I've had so far.

So have they got the big C under control now SD72? Sorry to hear of the shit you've had to go through, cant of been easy to say the least. I hope its in remission and your life is on an upward trend :yinyang:

Good on you designing your own bag mate, its the sort of thing that needs to be right or it ruins your life! I got really depressed constantly checking to see if I was leaking, didn't want to go out in public. Luckily I've got a topper of a wife who wont let me stay depressed and forces me to appreciate what I've got when the going gets tough.

All the best of future health man :guitar:

Did you stop eating at any point? I'd did :( just to stop the fucking leaks, but I lost a lot of weight and that it self has its own problems...

No, the oncologist didn't know what to do for the best...as we know, chemo kills, all he said was, it's about quality of life. So being in limbo, I started to do my own research and came across the Rick Simpson story and then found all the other stories...read majority of stories... Could this really work? I read about diet and Asian countries with low cancer cases etc... After talking to a friend of a friend I were introduced to probably the most influential person I've ever met...DANZIG. If you have been following Danzigs thread on Kath etc...he mentions a new cancer patient, lung, thats me! He drove from where he lives a few hours I would say to meet me in the county I live. This on its own amazed me. We sat for a few hours and talked through my case. He is a top bloke! He then kindly gave me his oil, the syringe one! Gave me a few drops and within 30 mins I could feel all the tightness soreness leave my chest and rib cage. The feeling was amazing! I had to stop myself from crying, I'm a bloke, I don't cry (well, not in front of folk). I couldn't believe this man who Id never met, not even spoke to had done this for me! So, like your mate who got you the honey oil, had come to my rescue! I were 90% through the syringe when I had to go for a CT scan. Scan done, waiting to see oncologist for results, all sorts going through my head, is this it, is he going to say, sorry nothing we can do etc etc etc... But what he did say, blew me and the missus away! The hot spot on my right lung had reduced! FUCK ME! The wife's jaw hit the floor! The only difference was my change in diet and Danzig's oil! After telling the doctor what I had been taking he didn't know what to say. My stoma nurse was blown away, she said keep doing what you're doing, it's working!

But it's not just the fantastic news on the hot spot, but it's also how it makes me feel. I feel centred, balanced, if that makes any sense. I have feeling back where I had non due to surgeries. I can get sleep (very important), given me a huge appetite, confidence, made me realise how poorly I have been. This stuff is awesome! Puts me in a very happy place! I can't thank Damzig enough. This is the first time I've posted anything about this. Danzig has given me permission to post. He is an awesome geezer! He's changed my life. I'm only 39, married with 8 year old boy and girl twins....he's given me a new lease of life! I'm not religious, but I now have faith in other human beings...thank you so much Danzig, big love dude

You're not on your own buddie, keep your chin up...I too have an awesome wife, she is my rock! It's been worse for her than me I think...she's had to look afte the kids and house, pay the bills etc...she lost her mum to bowel cancer, she were 42 :( brings it all back for her... That's why her jaw hit the floor!

I now have a new focus, to help Danzig as much as I possibly can. Looks like I'm going to have some time on my hands as they want to retire me...looks like a house husband and gardener now for me...

Sorry to bang on buddie...

All the best of future health man :guitar:

All the very best to you too buddie, keep positive...good health, keep safe, peace

WOW, what a result SD!! Aye Danzig is an amazing guy, a true crusader for medicinal cannabis and is someone who actually acts on helping people not just talks about it.

Your story has touched me mate, glad to hear that the oil has worked wonders with you, long may it continue so you and your family can enjoy life in a truly positive way :yinyang:
