Today is day 12 from the day they popped their heads out of the soil. My +speed is still pulling extra photons with her triple internodes and 50% extra photosythesis surface area, so far this is a clear advantage compared to the standard mode we're used to, like the Blackjack. She is looking just fine and is doing a good job of keeping up.

A note on the mutated plant, she roots faster too and this is leading me to imagine that the mutation might possibly be mirrored in the root system, perhaps this is able to provide the plant with even further benefit and vigour. I have read that whorled phyllotaxy is the proper term for this, rather than growing internodes from the main stem at opposites, the mutation causes three or more to grow. So far I see this as providing possibly more photosythesis, better and faster availablity of nutrients, though overall probably a more hungry plant.

You probably also noticed the prop on the right with the white sheet over it... That's to protect the two new arrivals from the intensity of the HPS.
Say hello to SAD1 and her sister SAD2, I'm sure they'll both be very happy hehe.

So that's good news, we will have a nice little family of girls living in the tent outside

Happy days
Also, I was raping my poor seeds and that is the reason I had trouble with germination. I learned not to leave these auto seeds in the paper towel or water too long, just long enough then they seem to like it best when fired straight into their growing medium.

Hello yosser, Autos / autoflowering strains are the offspring from breeding regular photoperiod 12/12 hybrids with the ruderalis subspecies. The term Ruderalis was originally used to describe varieties of hemp that had escaped cultivation and adapted to the surrounding region, we're growing plants crossed with the ruderalis and in this case do not need the light cycle changed to trigger flowering, they'll generally flower under any lighting cycle, last grow I did three cream caramels and they were on 24 hours light all through flowering. The plants don't get so big, and you have no control over the veg / flowering but the yeilds are good and the turnaround is quick

Day 22
So this update comes after a slight change, the lights are on a 20/4 schedule now as I was finding the plants droopy and slow growth. I gave them dark and a foliar feed of very mild catalyst. Prior to this I think the repotting seemed to give them a bit of a very short N overdose you can see with the clawing of the leaves, I may be wrong though but it seems to have balanced itself out. It wasn't over feeding since I've been giving them plain water with a little bio wetter only so far, some bio silicon at the start.
Anyway, I changed the lighting from always on to 20/4. Both plants responded really well, so I'd conclude these like a rest each day.
I've now got white hairs showing all over both the 22 day girls, just a case of them stretching over the next week and a bit then the flowering really should kick in.

The two Sweet AD's

That's all for now folks.

new digi ballast..upgrade to 400w..very noice..very noice indeed..have eyed those ballasts a few times myself..jealous I am..
I've just read the diary but have forgotten..are you still in the D60..?..the new house sounds nice and tucked away..like you say though, 3 month inspections are a bit much..especially for a young family..but you know what..?..I wouldn't be suprised if it's happening more frequently for a lot of peeps..
gotta say I'm glad you've got the four on the go..what with a new camera as well, this is going to be a top diary..you always get great results from your plants..
nice one G-man..glad to be in here to see you do the do..good luck with it and stay safe dude..

Day 28

I let the girls out to play today, since the sun was high in the sky I thought they might enjoy some au natural.

The +speed is going strong, looks like she'll be a short and fat one

Blackjack had some issues with finding the soil a little hot but is recovering well now.

The Sad sisters are doing great too.

They got a good few hours of roasting hot sunshine today before heading back to the tent and I think they really enjoyed it

Photographs from Day 33
All four autos have been enjoying the sun since the last update. It's showing too with much faster growth and development.
Feeding with 2.5ml/l plant magic Oldtimers bloom and bio wetter.
+speed

Blackjack

The two SAD's are growing at a healthy pace too, apologies for the poor photographs, I've been mega busy with various things.

The best bits are starting to take shape, cannot wait
All the best

+speed and blackjack are on 2.5ml bloom, using about half a litre per day and watering with plain water every 3 or so..
The sunlight seems to have really boosted the resin production and the smell from the +speed is distinctly bubblegum like. Incredibly sweet with genuine bubblegum scents coming though.
I'm very much looking forward to the smoke already
