Evening all,

I've sadly got to get rid of my Drobe as i'm moving into a flat share, I'm just not sure how to do it...

It's a steel cabinet dimensions are roughly 1m x 0.6m and 2m tall, I lined it with sound deadening foam and the stuff just doesn't come off in anything but tiny clumps and looks quite similar to mylar so there's no way of converting it back into a wardrobe, the thing weighs a ton too and can't be dismantled, not to mention the 4 great big holes at the back for ventilation. It is lockable at least!

Any idea of the best way of getting rid is? If i rent a van can I just take something like this down to the dump? I had a look the the guidelines of local refuse site and furniture doesn't seem to be on the list of accepted goods, I don't want to turn up and have any one look at it too closely. If it'll be dodgy to get rid of it at the dump, then where?

I really liked the idea of having such a solid drobe, but now it's proving to be a right pain in the ass!

Any ideas would be much appreciated, I've got to lose the thing in the next couple of days!

Any scrap dealer will take it off your hands. I don't know the price of steel but all metal prices have gone through the roof.I would think you'll get a bit of petrol money off them.

Ah thanks gents, I hadn't thought of that! Do you think there would be any questions asked about the holes and sound deadening lining? I was thinking of getting some black emulsion and giving the inside a once over then saying it was a dark room, this would be quite a plausible reason for me.

Thanks cocojoe, scrap man it is!

such a shame to think of it being scrapped, but it's got to be done.
