Is there any point buying 'a couple of seeds' of a landrace?

e2a I was under the impression that landraces are all pretty variable and you need a ten pack at least to get a good chance of a top pheno.

Yeah, a true landrace Indica is not only hard to find but also highly variable.

The best advice I could give you would be to look out for Afghani Hindu Kush or Pakistani Chitral, although both cultivated strains they are as natural an Indica you will find easily on the market.
But beware, you will benefit hugely from doing a bit of research before committing, what you are looking for sounds quite specific and there are a lot of duds on the market!

Just thought on to mention Tom Hill (if I'm allowed to)

2 of his strains are good IBL indica varieties... Deep Chunk and X-18, those being Afghani and Pakistani respectively.

I currently run a DC hybrid regularly, and it's one of my favourite plants... not overpoweringly couchlock in effect, and nicely clear headed aswell with a very unique, if not bizarre, smell/flavour!

Though I have heard DC can be a bit low yielding and bland on it's own, more of a breeders strain but it's hybrids are very highly regarded in certain circles.

No idea about X-18 myself, looks interesting though.

The Real Seed Company are a well known purveyor of rare landraces, though they don't seem to have any indicas at the moment. I remember their Mazar-I-Shariff and Sheberghan Afghans from a while back, was a bit gutted to miss those ones.

As Shogun says, ACE are worth looking at, and maybe CannaBiogen (Taskenti).

Plant knowing you will get a 50/50 male/female ratio and plan around that, a selfed cannabis plant can't be as vigorous as its mother/father progeny really, can it? If you are looking for proper landrace plants they wouldn't come femmed for the most part.

Have a look at Mandala seeds, Point of no Return, it might suit your needs, afghan and mexican landrace genes.
Leave the kitchen sink in the kitchen, dont throw it at your plants.

From what I understand, Northern Lights is as close as you can get to pure indica other than Afghan. The problem would seem to be able to find one that isn't crossed somewhere at some point other than the original. Northern Lights #5 would have obviously different parents than say Northern Lights #7 or plain old Northern Lights. Youd have to really trust your breeder I guess.

I may be wrong on this and Im sure someone will correct me if I am.

Peace
